This is one of the better restaurants in Oaxaca. The food was delicious, especially the pork tenderloin, and the service was very attentive. For the quality of the meal and the ambiance on the open air pation, the cost was very reasonable. Our party of four spent less than $100 including drinks and service

A lovely courtyard setting with space between the tables makes for a more romantic dining experience. Prices are a little higher than some restaurants but still good value as far as the UK is concerned. The service was excellent with delightful amuse bouche, freshly baked rolls, and my suckling pig was fantastic. My wife had the pork fillet which was... More

Oaxaca is famous for its great food but I cannot imagine a better experience than we enjoyed at Restaurante Catedral. We ordered some great cocktails (they have dozens of Mescals) and our Mesero brought along a variety of interesting and beautifully done appetizers, on the house. I was a little disappointed in my choice of Red Snapper. It seemed to... More

Admittedly we went for dinner on a Friday without super advance reservations (made them about 1.5 hours ahead of time). We were seated in the courtyard that is right inside the front doors. This area is not very pleasant as you are continuously exposed to exhaust fumes from the street. It almost felt like the restaurant drew the fumes in... More

We were able to book late for an 8:30PM dinner which was suprising because other well-rated places were totally booked. In turns out the Catredal (usally one of the top two rated ones in Oaxaca). The large central dining room was far from crowded though a few parties came in after we did. A guitarist played and sang through most... More

Our second visit. Reception not very forthcoming but excellent food although mini portions and therefore relatively expensive. Beer selection poor and some were not available...no excuses from staff. Apparently their rating went to their head a little.

A must if you visit Oaxaca, nice decoration. Great service, and the best mole I've ever had. Lots of typical regional food. Come here if you can

Decided to eat here on our first night in Oaxaca. It was delightful. The service was courteous and attentive. If you only have three nights to stay in Oaxaca visit Catedral Restaurant, Casa Oaxaca and Los Danzantes. They are each special in their own way, but each one is memorable. In the morning, you must visit Boulenc at least once.... More

We dined with friends at Catedral Restaurante twice during our recent stay in Oaxaca. We all agreed that it was the best food for a more reasonable price than the other fine restaurants where we had dinner during the week of our stay. From seafood to steak, it was all good. And the margaritas were excellent.

My boyfriend and I decided to splurge for dinner one night and wound up here. (And by splurge, I mean $30 a person, which included drinks, tax and tip). It was absolutely fantastic! We got the rib eye, and the tenderloin in mole sauce and both were delicious. Probably the best rib eye in all of Oaxaca. You get different... More
