Lovely unpretentious open air brunch spot in a leafy street outside the town center. Great Mexican breakfast-brunch-lunch fare. American coffee was NOT American coffee but a Mexican sweet hybrid. I stuck to the excellent hot chocolate with milk. Tasty chicken enchiladas or tacos for us, but lots of choices. Simple, tasty fare in a friendly atmosphere.

Traditional Mexican and a lot of selection. A real must for anyone who wants to have a really enjoyable meal tasting the way locals have eaten for ages.

This place is amazing - tables are spread around the area where two women are cooking on traditional stucco oven. It is fantastic to eat while watching them lovingly prepare tradtional dishes such as tetelas (corn masa pocket), memelas, tacos.... Great food, tiny tiny prices, and an atmosphere of authenticity. Highly recommended.

What a great experience!!! The food, drink, service, atmosphere. And I heard all the food comes from local farms. One of my favourite chef in Canada told me she got many Ideas from this place. Gabriela is a gem and so is her resto.

Not sure how we got here... Apparently it is Alice Waters favorite restaurant... and oh is she right... organic... cooked in front of you on little stands... outside under a festive tent... This is a must. Everything we ate was better than the prior dish... and inexpensive. Don't skip this one.

Not limited to coffee and chocolate, the cafe also offers fruit drinks and a variety of pastries. Free wifi and some power outlets offers a chance to recharge while you refresh.

The food served at Itanoni is honest and direct. It features vegetarian dishes, many small plates, all made from locally grown corn, hand ground, with tortillas handmade. It is delicious, healthful and unusual. Also very affordable.

Itanoni was listed as one of the top restaurants with vegetarian options in Oaxaca so we decided to try it. We were happy we did. The young waiters were happy to explain all the options we could eat and they were all delicious. Watching your corn tortilla being made, and cooked was fun and educational. The cooks wear masks for... More
