We have been to Oaxaca 7 times and always go to Biznaga. The margaritas are still the best in town, but have felt the last couple of times that the food and management have gone down hill. The food was ordinary at best. The manager is very unfriendly each and every time we have been there. This time we were... More

One of my favorite restaurants in Oaxaca. I ordered the tuna entre. Four huge pieces of raw tuna standing up over generous salad. Delicioso.

La Biznaga has wonderful salads, app's, main dishes and strong drnks. Really good mojito's if you want a mezcal break. The service, we have encounted, is prompt and friendly, although we are not there when the restaurant is busy. This is one of our go to places when we visit Oaxaca and we have never been disappointed.

Great place according to Tripadvisor. Hard to understand given our experience. Service was perfunctory and impersonal, food arrived so cold as to be inedible, bill was screwed up, waiter brought us a liter and a half bottle of water for two people. This restaurant needs a strong manager to pull it together. After much experience I've concluded that the best... More

La Biznaga came recommended by my Foodie Airbnb host, and I liked it so much the first time that I repeated dinner on my 3rd and final night in Oaxaca as well. Located in the courtyard of an old mansion on Calle Garcia Vigil (IMHO prettier than the more touristy Calle Macedonia Alcala), La Biznaga provides an atmospheric setting for... More

The music is so loud it is impossible to converse, worse they allow and encourage vendors to come in to the restaurant to sell their wares, constantly interrupting any conversation. We spoke to the Manager about these irritants saying that it was a pity because the food was otherwise good. He said that he liked their music just fine and... More

I ate here twice in one week and enjoyed the first time much more than the second. On both occasions we were a large group and they managed to fit us in. On my first visit I had the tuna with asparagus and found it to be delicious. Simply seared, and pink, pink, pink all the way through. My friends... More

This had to be some of the absolute best food I've had in Mexico. The setting and atmosphere are fantastic. The mezcal is inspiring. And it's romantic, to boot. I go back every time I visit Oaxaca. Love you guys!

We are a group of anywhere from 12 to 22 at our peak over our 3 week visit to Oaxaca. Found the Biznaga and thought we would try it. We enjoyed the food... the ceviche, the camarones, the mole, the drinks and the desserts when you finally get to order. The service is pretty bad. Once they took our drink... More
