Rode our bikes to La Candela for lunch. Had Cuban sandwiches today. Better than the ones we had in Havana. We should have shared one sandwich as they were huge. Each took half a sandwich home for another meal. La Candela is noted for their Cuban pork on Saturdays and they have delicious breakfasts as well.

We've been coming for lunch every time we visit. The takeout/daily special never disappoints. Chicken, pork or stuffed peppers, fresh vegetables, rice etc. This has to be the best lunch for the money on the island. Just left Cozumel on 10 Feb and looking forward to June already and La Candela lunches play no small part in our desire to... More

I was in Cozumel this past December and friends and I wanted to get together pre- holidays: they selected La Candela. We arrived early at 8 am, the place was ready to go: tables set up, good things cooking in the open kitchen, friendly servers at the door. We had a wide variety of things, but the "Motuleño" eggs and... More

We stumbled upon La Candela after walking about 30 minutes from where our ship docked. The food was really enjoyable and atmosphere COMPLETELY authentic. From the pico de gallo to the fish, shrimp, and chicken tacos.........all were delicious. The fish dinner was also a tasty treat and my children devoured the steak nachos........and did I say that 5 of us... More

Favored by locals, it has regional specialties as well as the usual fajitas, tacos, etc. There is the regular menu plus several daily specials. Entrees come with soup. And if you have never drunk jamaica, you should try it. This non-alcoholic iced tea made from hibiscus flowers comes also with the meal. It is worth returning to.

Nice environment, decent food. I had a shrimp dish that was good once I spiced it up a little. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals just as they were. Our friends who had been there before recommended the mamay pie which is a frozen fruit concoction that is very tasty.

This is some solid homestyle Mexican cuisine at a very inexpensive prices. This was another spot right by our hotel and we had lunch here more than once. Lunch changes everyday and includes soup and an entree with your choice of sides. Good Stuff

- Oh my gosh, I love the way you look from the street, and from you’re cute main dining room…so cute! Sadly I ordered wrong here… got the fish that was suppose to come in a poblano cream sauce and got fish with cream sauce and tomatillo on top.. I called them over to address it and just brought out... More

We dive 2 to 3 times a year in Cozumel and always eat at La Candela at least once or twice each trip. You'll find a lot of locals eating here as it's authentic Mexican style cooking, very flavorful and fresh and the service is great a well. Lunch this trip was delicious as always. Topped it off with mamey... More
