Was there 2nd week of January. My husband and I stopped to have a couple beverages and enjoy the beach for a bit. It was a lovely place with a great view. Though we didn't eat anything, the menu looked great, as did the food being brought out! They brought out chips and salsa with our drinks, but the salsa... More

Went in here to have some snacks and drinks while wandering down the beach. It was packed with locals so you have to assume it's going to be good. Beers were cold and only 25p for domestic brands!!! Complimentary chips and salsa which is always nice. Great view. Service was pretty quick considering how busy it was. Other than the... More

This is one of the few restaurants in old Mexican and old Playa style. Totally friendly bring your kids, inexpensive and good local food. My personal fav is the Ceviche !! Right on the beach !!

This was my first trip to Playa Del Carmen and was looking for a seafood restaurant similar to the ones I found on Isla Mujeres when I went there. I found exactly what i was looking for in La Tarraya. The prices are very affordable and their ceviche is fresh and delicious. One of the few places in Playa Del... More

The restaurant was recommended by a local and was among the better beachfront tourist driven traps. The fried fish was excellent, and seafood tacos good. Service was good. Skip the sugared cocktails and stick with beer and seafood. The front of the restaurant and the ocean view is marred by tons of crowded loungers, but even so, the outdoor seating... More

We have been going to La Tarraya for several years now and it is always great, tables in the sand, however, this year there was no beach, no fault to the restaurant, mother nature ate up all the beach along that part of the coast. We still got a great table on the little bit of beach there was, great... More

We discovered this place about 6-7 years ago. We usually eat there at least twice a week when in Playa. Last week we made it once. We were shocked that the beach is just about up to the tables now. It's always been a huge beach in the past. We ended up having dinner about 7 and the place was... More

This place feels like a step back in time to the old Playa del Carmen that was a lazy fishing village. Right on the beach, toes in the sand. Prices are great, and the seafood was fresh. We got the nachos, which were just chips covered in bean sauce and cheese. Then we got the mixed ceviche and fish stuffed... More

This is always one of our go-to beach restaurants in Playa. Not fancy, good food, very reasonable, decent to good service depending on who is your waiter. This is the oldest beach restaurant in Playa and is one we always recommend to friends and family!

it was my first time, I really liked it. I had the ceviche and the fried fish, they were both excellent. we also had the tik-n-xic – , it is fish marinated wrapped in a banana leaf. it was amazing.

The grouper with garlic and butter for 90 pesos can't be beat anywhere. Service was good, portions are huge , drinks are large and excellent, and the location is right on the beach (feet in the sand if you choose). A great value.
