The setting of Casa Banana is very Tulum and very cute... However, I thought the food was just okay. It is an Argentinian steak house and that just was not what I was expecting in Mexico... Nothing was wrong with my meal, but it did not leave me with any lasting impression and it could have been a dining experience... More

We went to this restaurant twice because the food is delicious and the cocktails are really cool. Therefore, long wai to get a table but worth it. One drawback. They don't take credit cards and the ATM they have only gives you dollars at a very high fee.

The cocktails and food were excellent at the Argentinian steak restaurant. One of our favorite restaurants on the beach of Tulum.

The warm octopus salad with chili honey dressing was addicting. Had it at dinner and had to go back the next day for lunch! Had a really great glass of Malbec too! Beautiful setting. Open air but covered in case a shower comes through. Only negative was the frozen out of a box calamari. Skip that!

Outdoor dining has been perfected in Tulum, and Casa Banana sets a high bar. The food is good, not excellent. The cocktails were a highlight of the meal. Served indoors it wound not make for a memorable evening but worth a visit for the atmosphere of dining under stars, palms, and next to the roaring outdoor open oven. Prices were... More

They brought us bread and fruit, which we did not ask for therefore believed it was complimentary. We were charged for it and the food was expensive, at least good but you can get equally good food for cheaper other places.

We had a few really good meals in Tulum, but Casa Banana was hands down the best. For starters, the cocktail list is amazing - you can get things there no one else in Tulum has (Bourbon, for instance). The wine list is also good, we had a nice Argentina blend. The atmosphere was fantastic as well - open kitchen... More

my wife and i dined here 3 times on our week vacation (it was easy to walk to, but we really enjoyed the restaurant too). The drinks were the best we had at all the places nearby, they remembered us on our second night. Service was fast and efficient, even though you're in mexico and should be eating fish the... More

Ate breakfast there for a week because it was included with our hotel across the street. I ate the continental breakfast every day but one, and had dinner here one evening. Service was friendly, but they sometimes forgot little things (ex. more coffee, napkins, drinks). The fresh bread was my favorite part of the food! Watching the man at the... More

Honestly the food and the waiters were very good here. Go and be happy. I just felt like this was being run like a NYC joint just trying to turn tables as fast as possible. The first thing we were told before the "hostess" would even hand us the menus is that we had to make sure we had enough... More

Description
Located across the beach road from Nueva Vida is Casa Banana Steakhouse, a Tulum dining hot spot. Serving up classic Argentinian style cuisine, the food here is simple, fresh and delicious. For breakfast each morning enjoy made to order coffee, homemade banana bread, and pineapple coconut jam. At night the restraurant gets busy and comes alive with it’s outdoor grill, known as “parilla,” and dishes are cooked over the open fire for all to see. The menu favorites include grilled to perfection steak, fresh caught fish, impressive salads, and a thoughtfully selected wine list. Don’t forget to try the handshaken icy margaritas, too.Open daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. We provide beach service for all guests of the hotel.
