We arrived at 1,45pm for lunch after visiting Roman ruins and Early churches in Ribchester . We ere greeted quickly and taken to a pleasant dining room. The staff were very pleasant , we didn’t have to wait long , the menu for main courses...was interesting and varied , the food excellent ( just a bit pricey) -More

Slow service & very salty mashed potatoes with extremely strange and over done sausages. will not be returning for the overpriced food anytime soon.

After spending a lovely Saturday evening in The White Bull we decided to book in for Sunday lunch and have to say we it was one of the best we have ever had, the pub was busy with a lovely atmosphere and the customer service...from the staff was exceptional nothing was too much trouble. The food was reasonably priced, and the locally sourced produce made this Sunday lunch worth travelling for. It was lovely to be presented with homemade food instead of the usual microwave mass produced dinners. The location of The White Bull is magical with some lovely walks and historical sites on its doorstep. We will definitely be back.More

Lovely lunch. We were travelling and just called in. My husband had the Steak Pie and I had the Cheese & Onion Pie.... so scrumptious! Home cooked. We would definitely do a diversion to go there again. Staff were welcoming and customers in bar were...friendly and chatty. As a bonus, If you go into the garden you can see the Roman baths!More

Really one of the best pub meals we've had. Helpful, welcoming staff, generous portions of beautifully cooked food at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

I booked a table for 15 on Saturday night to celebrate a big birthday. What a fantastic evening it was! You can eat in all areas of the pub i.e, the bar area, the restaurant or the area we had been booked into…..the “Champagne Stables”....It was fabulous! Julie and the team set up the area and our table beautifully, it was really special and it looked amazing. Because there was 15 of us we had pre-ordered our food choices. It was great doing it that way. I arranged pre dinner drinks in advance as well and they were ready and waiting for us as everyone arrived 🥂 The food was absolutely delicious. So good that one of my friends wants the recipe for the pea and mint soup. Another one told the chef “that’s the best sausage I’ve ever had” I had the prawn saganaki starter then the rabbit stew, both delicious. We finished the evening off with a cocktail tree, what a treat that was 🍸 The service was great, they really looked after us. The pub was busy with a lovely atmosphere. It was a brilliant evening and memorable for all the right reasons. I’ve not posted pics of the food, there’s lots of those on other reviews. Some pics of the setting though because it was fabulous.More

An excellent gem, hidden in Ribchester. The restaurant was busy, the service great, the food was really delicious. I would highly recommend this place. The only problem was an extremely rude customer, who was giving the staff a hard time, for having the audacity to...serve them efficiently. He told the entire restaurant how he wanted a 15 minute break between starter and main course. The staff handled him with great courtesy.More

On a short 3 day break, we came across this old, characterful and recently refurbished pub in Ribchester and enjoyed a drink and a chat to the locals. We enjoyed the warmth of the welcome and the overall ambience so much, we decided to book...the restaurant for the following evening. Again we spent a very enjoyable time and highly recommend the food offering from the extensive but reasonably priced menu. Thank you particularly to Ginette and Julie for your friendliness and hospitality. We hope that we will one day return and visit again and have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone visiting this beautiful part of the Ribble valley.More

The White Bull was recommended to us and they did not disappoint!! We chose here for a Friday lunch after a family walk with our dogs and they were so friendly and accommodating. We book prior and gave our food orders and from sitting down...with our drinks, the food was out within 10 minutes. The food was delicious, all 11 of us really enjoyed it. We will definitely be returning!More

Our daughter bought us a voucher for Xmas, so we visited the white bull for the first time today. It was quiet when we arrived which gave us time to talk to our lovely hostess Jeanette. We both ordered the pheasant & bacon pin wheel...which came with piccalilli, really delicious. We followed up with the rabbit stew which was sensational, one of the best dishes we've had in years ( it was a tad too salty). Will spread the word to friends & family about this great eating place, with a few unique dishes we haven't come across before.More

Excellent all round. Great friendly service and 4 delicious starters and main meals. It was a Mother’s Day menu, the mushroom starter and lamb shank main I chose couldn’t be faulted. A favourite pub of mine on and off over the years and it’s definitely...right back up there at the top again. Will be back soon. Thanks for a lovely meal.More

I had the steak and blue cheese sandwich, it came with a side salad, coleslaw and hand cut crisp for £10. Great value and the setting and staff were wonderful. Can’t wait to come back for their famous Sunday Dinner

Went with my Mum & my brother. New manager, new menus, and such a new wine supplier they hadn’t got their wine list printed yet. Exceptionally good pub grub! We all had a pheasant & bacon pinwheel - like a roulade - in puff pastry...as a starter which came with a sharp and crunchy piccalilli and hit the spot perfectly. I had a very good beef & ale pie, followed by Eton mess and my brother enjoyed his rabbit stew. A couple of glasses of Pendleside and a nice bottle of Malbec washed it all down. Friendly service. Full dining room. Good Saturday evening buzz. Loved it!More

Food stunning, atmosphere great, and staff amazing - we were staying nearby and came for food first night - it was so good we came back the next night too - we were only here for two nights and after the food and service the...first night, it was a no trainer to return. Pie, lamb shank, chicken gyros, sticky pork tenderloin and stroganoff all 100% recommendedMore
