Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Surprisingly good food: cod provencale, fresh and precisely baked. Good firm pasta in blue cheese sauce. Very friendly service. Small but fair wine selection.

Really good value lunch with locally spruces ingredients. The waiting staff were very busy but we found them friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our meal which was included in our train des pignes package which made it incredible value.the cat ‘chaussettes’ was so cute...and friendly too!More

Ate lunch here after we had visited the citadel. It is probably run by some locals and we had to wait a quite a little bit for our menus and then the food and drinks. But the setting was nice on the little medieval town...square and it was a well needed rest stop after the trip up and down to the citadel.More

The trip to Entrevaux and the walk through the walled city was fabulous. The cafe situation is rather ordinary and a bit expensive. Service was slow. We had a salad de vallee, a terrine and a pichet of wine which we shared (because the price...was high) and that cost $60. I find that pricy.More

This restaurant is situated in the shade in a small square. The staff were friendly, and we were able to have a leisurely meal in pleasant surroundings on a warm autumn day. My wife chose the fillets of red mullet with baked potatoes.....very pleasant. I...chose the grilled lamb...the 'plat de jour' ....and was surprised at the size of the meal....three very large lamb chops...cooked to perfection. We noticed that one of the desserts was nougat glace......it was superb!More

A marvelous trip in a warm sunny October day. After visiting the fortress with the stunning view, we visited this restaurant for a lunch. We had rumpsteaks with fries and vegetables. Very and tasteful. We enjoyed the meal and the friendly and helpful staff.

Service horrible and the food was the same. Not worth the high ranking on Trip Advisor and should be avoided at all cost by travellers although the restaurant has the best location in this beautiful town.

We were served by a very friendly lady and the food was good home cooked fare. The local Var valley rosé wine was also a good accompanying choice of drink.

This was our first time in Entrevaux, which is a pretty medieval village on the river Var and famous for the challenging hike up to the 'Citadel', set high on a rocky crag overlooking the village. At the end of the climb, we were looking...for somewhere to have lunch and chanced on the Auberge with it's leafy and and shady setting in a pleasant square, but we were ultimately disappointed. I had chosen a mixed grill, which is unusual for these parts and asked for the meat to be 'saignant', it arrived overcooked and dry, which was disappointing and unfortunately my partner's brochette de canard, ordered pink, was also well overcooked, which did not please her, since she is French. For a French restaurant this is almost inexcusable and calls into question the skills of the cook, despite other more favourable reviews. To add insult to injury, I had to ask the owner, who was an oddly nervous character, four times for the bill and on the last occasion threatened to leave without paying, a process that wasted over 20 minutes. Sadly, I think that the Auberge du Planet is not amongst the stars!More

We came here with friends today for lunch. Spotted the local Gendarmes and Pompiers eating here - always a good sign! Friendly but efficient service, delicious food, nice setting. 80 euros for 4 including a carafe of wine. Excellent!!
