Here you can find both traditional dishes along with trends of modern tastes, but everything is of the highest quality and you can feel and taste the freshness of the seafood.

Had an excellent business meal. Best dish not to miss is the Jaiba al a Frank. The Jaiba is a blue crab. In this dish the crab is prepared in a butter based sauce and served with delicious cheese tortillas. A bit of a hit on your cholesterol but worth it. The stuffed Jaiba served in the shell is also... The first time I went was a couple of months ago at the recommendation of my work colleague who is from Tampico. Of course I asked what was the most famous dish and the waiter said Jaiba a la Frank / Crab in the style of Frank the founder. So this time I asked for "second place" and received the... More

This place has some of the best seafood in town. The cheese tortillas are unique never have seen them elsewhere. Don't miss if you visiting. Local landmark. BETTER THERE THAN ACROSS THE STREET says the sign on the front (the grave yard is a cross the street)

Great place to eat; the Jaiba a la Frank with Asadero cheese tortillas is awesome. My grandfather loved the MB Fish. A place to go to eat in Tampico for sure, just not in a tight budget.

I have since moved from the area. I ready do miss this place. The seafood was fresh and delicious. My top choices are: Jaiba a la Frank, crab meat in a rich, white creamy sauce, served with thin cheese tortillas. No where else have I found this dish. Other favorite seafood dishes are the Shrimp, cooked "Al Jillo" style, butter... More

Nice place, good service, and wonderful sea food. Ask for the tortillas made with cheese, any thing that you put on that will taste great, I loved the "jaiba".

Love this place, though it feels like a tabern in some cold place.. The dishes are excellent. Can't get enough! Jaiba a la Frank with the cheese tortillas and some fresh jaibas are a must for me. The oysters and fresh shrimp are always another good choice. Love eating here.

El Porvenir has been around for decades and it is serving seafood of the highest caliber... Certainly a not-to-be-missed restaurant in Tampico... Don´t forget to order "jaibas a la Frank"
