A wonderful evening celebrating my 18th birthday, we went for the Dinner at Eight on Saturday night. If you want a special treat or celebration this is the place to go! A fantastic seven course meal, with high standard service. For every course the different choices are brought round every table so you can see what it looks like and... More

This is my second review of Pecks but as it nearly four years since the last one I feel it is justified. On this occasion there was just myself and my better half instead of the usual group of 8 or 10 of us. We visited on the day before Good Friday as neither of us were working on Friday... More

We have always enjoyed visiting Pecks over the years, but unfortunately yesterday evening left disappointment in our minds. Basic waiting standards missed, bread plates left on throughout the meal even though empty, empty bread plate not cleared, wine glasses left on the table for members not drinking wine, water served but never topped, no food check backs, wine kept away... We took my boyfriend's family to Pecks as an extremely belated Christmas gift. I wasn't sure what to expect having not tried a tasting menu before but would now highly recommend! We went on a Thursday evening for the 7 course menu for £47 per person. On Tue/Wed/Thur you can bring your own wine (no corkage charge) but they are... More

Some years ago I used to go to pecks in Staffordshire, it was perfect then !what a treat Saturday was . Canapés , champagne and then course after course of perfectly presented gourmet food extravaganza! This is not the place to go for a quick night out , ensure you don't eat all day to ensure you can eat all... More

For my birthday my friends and family came for dinner with me at Pecks. There were so many of us that we were treated to a private dining area upstairs. It was perfect. The service was outstanding as always, the food was fantastic, gorgeous atmosphere and great fun.

Our party of 10 was booked for lunch at noon on a Tuesday, and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. It was six years since the group last enjoyed a lunch at Pecks, and we were delighted to discover that the standards of service, from Matt and Ben, and food had been maintained, with a mere 15% price increase for... This really is a joy. Friendly staff, lovely place and excellent food. The menu is just right with a varied choice of starters, mains and desserts. The wine is not cheap but the choice is good and guaranteed to please. Try it.

Description
Pecks Restaurant was established in 1984 and still offers it's famous "Dinner at 8" concept, where all diners start a theatre of food at 8pm, and a sample dish of each option on the menu is presented by waiting staff and described, so that diners need never make the wrong selection. The menu is 5 courses on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 7 courses Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Unusually, and despite an extensive wine list, Pecks still invites diners to bring their own wine, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening, with no corkage charge.Pecks are dedicated to achieving the very best, and never stop pushing the standards even higher. All our dishes are freshly prepared by a kitchen brigade led by Head Chef Les Wassall – a Pecks veteran of over 10 years – highly skilled in complimenting classic British cooking with innovative and assured modern touches. In recent years, Pecks has opened at lunchtime, offering an impressive a la carte menu, and a daily plat du jour menu representing outstanding value for money - and more recently for afternoon tea.A firm favourite for discerning diners from far and wide, Pecks celebrates over 25 successful years with a fresh lease of life and numerous coverted awards. The restaurant is located close to historic Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire and below the famous landmark Mow Cop Castle, just over the Staffordshire border. Recently acquired by its most enthusiastic customers, local businessman Andrew Pear and his wife Sue - who liked the food so much they bought the restaurant. They are determined to continue in the vein that has made Pecks the venue of choice for generations of diners celebrating special occasions and the stylish makeover inspired by Sue provides an elegant backdrop to acclaimed standards of cuisine and service.
