Michoacán Purépecha cuisine is designated as Heritage to the world by UNESCO. And Lu is a great example to understand why! Chef Lucero is bold and daring, mixing tradicional with the innovative: Jícamas with hibiscus flowers to create superb enchiladas without tortillas. A must try. We also tried the Pescado Blanco ceviche and finished with avocado ice cream with a... More

Arrived in Morelia at noon and our hotel host advised if we eat at Lu and mention our hotel we would get a free dessert for the table. Lu is located across from the Plaza de Armas under a shaded portico on the main street (highway 15) with sidewalk and inside seating at Hotel Casino. The portico is lined with... More

Excellent variety of local food, served in a gourmet fashion. Good options for alcoholic drinks. The Mojito was excellent!

It's a beautiful restaurant from the Cassino Hotel in the heart of downtown Morelia. The service is great, the dishes go out really fast, everything is well served and seasoned with traditional Mexican flavors. I recommend it for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!

As you walk the city, think about the lunch stop at LU. Located on main street, the restaurant have tables inside & outside for the view of the main church or an intimate moment. This can be a good choice to try the local cuisine by famous chef Lucero Soto; she loves to include the local tamales, avocados and cheese,... More

We ate here several times over the last years and the cuisine is a step above any other restaurants in town. The menu presents a revival of Michoacan street food by a chef who knows how to mix flavors and consistency and uses a simple but artful and innovative presentation. The setting is informal with a couple of nice rooms... More

We sat there at the late afternoon to have a coffee, I don't even drink coffee often but it was so inviting. From there you can breath the colonial Morelia. We also ate dinner and it was fine, not the best I have eaten but still ok.

Lu is a must to eat at when you visit Morelia. The breakfast offers a great variety. My favorite is the traditional Chilaquiles con verde con pollo. However the food menu for dinner or lunch is excellent as well. A must try is the Sopa Tarasca, which is layered with flavor. Seated indoors you avoid the passerby asking for money,... More
