This little restaurant is on the main Hidalgo Avenue across from the Zacatecas Cathedral. It has a decent selection of gorditas and they're 15 pesos each (gorditas run about 7-10 pesos on the street). The tortillas were toasty and not greasy, which I liked. The fillings inside were sparse and varied in taste - Both the chorizo and picadillo gorditas... More

Gorditas! We had to make this stop to try this traditional Zacatecan dish. It's not something I would normally choose to eat as I prefer tacos. But seeing how busy this place always was, you can tell it is a local favorite eatery. I enjoyed the chicharon ones but they are on the spicey side. The facilities were clean. The... More

Good food, typical gorditas. The attention and services could have been better. But the price is really good!

I love Mexican food. I love little places were the owner serves you food and tells you the story of how the place got famous... Goes it's Doña Julia is definitely NOT the case. It's a little place with more tables than chairs. The order took around 1 hours and a half and on top of that we had to... More

Las gorditas muy equis, he probado mucho mejores y el servicio pésimo, te tratan mal y son groseras. Gorditas are not so good, I've tried much better, terrible service, they are rude and treat you bad

Very nice made to order "Gorditas" with all kinds of ingredients to fill them up. Usually there is a line waiting for a table, clean tasteful.

I read about this place on TripAdvisor, and it was recommended by someone I know from Zacatecas too, so it as the first place I stop upon dropping my bags off at the hostel (even though the owner of the hostel couldn't understand why I wouldn't want to go to Starbucks instead. haha). Anyway, the gorditas were great. I had... More

It was fast, cheap and delicious... if you're not Mexican ask which ones are the spiciest because they are quite hot... Beans with cheese, Rice with mole could be good options for those who aren't brave enough to eat like a Mexican. Ajúa!

One should not expect a "real" restaurant when going to doña julia's. It is more of a take away thing where you can also sit down. But the gorditas are delicious and a must try when in zacatecas! There is no real service - they give you a paper where you have to put down your order. But for me... More

I read a lot about this restaurant so we decided to have breakfast there. The place is OK and the only thing served there are gorditas (corn made thick tortillas filled with different things as cheese, or chicharrón or meat, etc.). I love Mexican food but was disappointed with these gorditas. Perhaps what happened is that after reading such good... More
