Food was nice & service prompt but sadly, we were disappointed by a failure to accommodate a simple request. We ordered a pasta dish & asked if it was possible to add prawns, which was done for a very reasonable £3. However, when we asked...to add some chicken to two other pasta dishes, were surprised to be told that the chef wouldn’t do this .. I thought this was weird with chicken also on the Menu So, I asked if I could purchase a separate chicken dish, remove everything but the chicken, then cut it up myself & add it to my pasta ? Yes, but it’d be £16.10 ! I had hoped that when the bill came, sense would’ve prevailed and perhaps a discount would’ve been allowed for all the other ingredients, vegetables, sauces & prep that hadn’t been used when presenting a small single piece of chicken served on a plate. Having pre booked & driven from Berkshire for a stroll on the beach before dinner, we were looking forward to visiting again, only to feel let down by a lack of flexibility & ultimately, customer service Poor show Sapori, poor show 👎🏼 I’m afraid we won’t be backMore

An enjoyable lunch with relatives and friends. Good choices available from the menu, and the food is well cooked. Service was efficient and friendly.

This was our first time at Sapori, and we were very impressed. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Our drinks order seemed to be a bit complicated but they coped with this extremely well. Such a shame, we had only heard good things about the place. We were sat next to the pillar so I don’t know if that was the issue but the service was very slow and we didn’t get the same server twice. The starters were...okay, but lasagna was burnt and dry, nobody came to check how the meal was. When they cleared away they still didn’t ask, I had to point out the burnt food still on the plate. No apology just, “I’ll let the chef know “. No response from the kitchen and the bill was for full price. Had to ask if there wasn’t a reduction for the burnt food, waitress said she would check with the owner. Came back with a reduced bill but still no apology.More

My daughter recently booked a table for 5 family members, both adults & children, the waitress was friendly and gave, us each a menu for food & drinks the menus were varied and covered everyone's tastes. The service and food were very good, and our...mains arrived piping hot. Our group really enjoyed our meals and would certainty return again. The only downside was the music which appeared 1940 tunes, instead of authenticity Italian tunes, which meant the atmosphere in the restaurant was flat.More

I heard a few negatives about the service so going midweek seemed a good idea when it wouldn’t be so busy. Turned out to be a good plan!!!! We found the waitresses to be charming and helpful and the pasta and pizzas were very good....The restaurant was reasonably busy but everyone seemed to be happy and looked after. Absolutely fabulous food. We took our two grandchildren aged 8 and 10. They had the set meal of two courses, pizza and ice cream. Hubby and I had the lasagna. Both children said the pizzas were gorgeous. Our lasagna was mouthwatering, best I’ve ever had....Friendly staff. We sat outside because we had our dog with us. Lovely.More

Just returned from a meal at Sapori. The food was delicious, restaurant itself small and attractive. The staff are attentive, pleasant and well informed. The meal was an early Mothers Day event from my sons and would have been a delightful experience had it not...been for a table close by who were so loud that we were unable to have a conversation between the three of us. their singing ,excessively loud laughter and conversation such that we could hear every word that was said followed by loud cheers when one unfortunate waitress dropped and broke a glass, pis not acceptable behaviour in a restaurant. We were more concerned that she was not hurt. I feel that the whole situation should have been addressed by the staff especially as we mentioned that we were having difficulty placing our order because we could not hear what were being asked. Surely as paying customers we should have been able to speak to one another during our meal. As it is we felt that our evening was spoiled by this thoughtless behaviour and we left without ordering desert as a result. Such a shame that I have to put this in a review but restaurants need to be prepared to meet the needs of all of their customers by politely asking certain groups to just tone down their noise levels to allow others to enjoy their meal.More

Living in Lee on the Solent we try our best to support our local high street and local businesses. There is no doubt that the food served at Sapori is wonderful and the restaurant's ambience is authentically Italian. The service & length of time to...be served however completely ruins the whole experience. We have frequented this restaurant many times and have never had good service.When our friends suggested booking here tonight we agreed but joked that we would quite like to be able to get to work on time for Monday morning! We arrived for our table at 8pm and were left waiting without menus or offer of a drink for over 15 minutes…we had to ask otherwise it might have been longer. It was then a fair while before we got drinks and were asked for our order. An hour and a half later we were still sat there waiting for our meals and in that time, not one single member of staff had come to check on us, offer more drinks or even give us any eye contact let alone any interaction. We eventually asked for an update on our meal and were told it would be another 15 minutes. To book a table at 8pm and not be served your dinner until nearly 10pm is really unacceptable. And sadly this has not been a one off experience for us. My husband was so annoyed by the complete lack of service he refused to give any tip whatsoever….something I have not witnessed in the 28 years of knowing him. Luckily there are some very nice pubs and other restaurants in our village that we would definitely prefer to give our business to and I would recommend that anyone considering booking this restaurant di the same. When we addressed our dissatisfaction to the server they did nothing to placate us and I can assure you we were not rude…just very sad and very disappointed.More

First time trying Sapori. I booked on a recommendation. My husband has worked in Italy a few times in the past year and it has been a mission to find somewhere to eat one of his favourite dishes. Sapori did not disappoint. The atmosphere is...very relaxed. The staff are friendly and the right level of attentive. The food was delicious and authentic - we will be back!More

Due to Corona, living in Germany etc, not visited for 3-4 year. The welcome received was just great, as if never been away. Inside looks fantastic as always and service provided by Louise and Team was outstanding, always has been, suppose always will be. A...sign of a well run family business. The menu provides a good range of traditional Italian starters, main courses and desserts, all freshly prepared. The wine list is excellent, one can find wines that I have never experienced in other Restaurants; Verdicchio, Cannonau. I have many Italian friends in Germany involved in Restaurant business so appreciate good food/vino. For me, never found a better Italian in England than Sapori. Highly recommended.More

We had a really super meal as a three generation family. The food was fresh, well presented and very tasty. The portions were generous but did not overface. The waiting staff were friendly, polite and attentive. A thoroughly enjoyable evening all round.
