Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thank you so much to all the staff at The Victory Inn for such a fabulous evening last night. The Christmas menu we had booked for our girls night out was absolutely delicious, everyone loved their food so much and we all highly recommend booking...this. The food was presented beautifully, cooked to perfection and huge portion’s. 10 out of 10 for the chef 😍 The pub had a lovely Christmas atmosphere and it was warm and cosy. 🌲🧑‍🎄❤️More

We stopped by on the off chance on the way back to our Air BnB, and although they weren’t serving food at the time, we we welcomed and told we could come back at 5.30/6ish. The service was great, the staff were super friendly and...made us feel very relaxed and valued. The food was delicious. I had steak which was locally sourced. It was the nicest steak I have ever had, so tender and lean. The portion was huge too. My husband had fish and chips which he said was also delicious. I wasn’t blown away by the chocolate brownie, but it was still ok. The cheese cake was lovely though! Superb value for money - we will definitely visit again if ever we are passing. Thank you for a lovely evening Victory Inn!!More

We popped in here as a family of 6 plus a toddler. Didn't get to even sit down as we were told they were fully booked. Many empty tables and didn't feel welcome to stop for a drink. We left unable to try the food...as other reviews looked really good. We won't try again while we are here.More

On our holiday to Porthtowen we were given the recommendation of going to the Victory Inn for a meal. We booked a table by calling them. On arrival we found the place was very busy, lots of locals and families on holiday. We were welcomed...at the bar and taken to a side extension which was less busy and nice for us to eat. The lady went through the specials and menu, was so polite and friendly. We ordered amd the food came a short while later. Clearly home cooked, great taste, great portions and good value for money. Would definitely go back again. Recommended to all who visit and want to take their family for a nice quality pub meal.More

Disappointed after all the good reviews. Sunday evening and sold out of virtually everything so limited choice. Ordered burgers which were pink and were told they werent undercooked but had been made with tomato puree however didn’t want to take chance so didn’t eat it....To be fair they didn’t charge for meal but we just wanted to leave as felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. May be a great place for you but not for usMore

Popped in on a Sunday evening, no reservation but hoped despite the amount of people in there we would be able to have food. Had a table in a couple of minutes and our food arrived within 15. My roast was huge with a great...choice of veg and plenty of gravy ( can't stand places that skimp on the gravy ) Hubby's fish and chips went done well also. Lovely friendly staff. Pub is very dog friendly, even does a doggy roast ! Will definitely come again next time we are down this way.More
