The views are awesome and the drinks are reasonable. Always treated like a "local" when you walk in and never feel out of place.

Spending time at JJs Cantina is an experience, from watching the people to sitting on the beach watching the fishing boats to simply being on Cholla Bay. Visiting Rocky Point must include a stop at JJs. Order up fish tacos, burgers and fries, BBQ or quesadillas. Carry your snacks with drinks down to the cement benches and tables and enjoy... More

The location of this bar is very far from Penasco and often requires a truck instead of a car due to the road. Once you arrive and sit outside you realize why so many love it here. The bar was full of American's which from the conversations transplanted from the states. Its a little far to travel but a great... More

Place has not changed much and does need updating but perfect location. Ok food. Average. Drinks excellent, but again for the area and being the only hotspot in town they really need to update the place because it could be a hit and everyone would come because the location and atmosphere are awesome. Potential 5 star but for now 3... More

JJ's hasn't changed a bit in the approx. 30 years we've been going to the Puerto Penasco area. It will probably change dramatically once the cruise terminal gets finished and the ships arrive. Right now, all the other reviews are true at one time or another. The place can be cold, it can be hot, there is no service, the... More

Great place to sit and enjoy watching the tides rise and fall filling up the bay. Able to sit outside and relax. They have food, also.

Nice views, uncomfortable seating, no service. We had to get our own drinks. Limited selection of t-shirts. This bar did not have wine the day we were there (Sunday), which should have been a busy weekend crowd. No one was there.

We heard this was the place to go for great fish tacos they were horrible. We got two small pieces of breaded fish that were fried to nothing. I also ordered a beef tostada that tasted like nothing. It tasted like beef that been cooked overcooked in a pot in water. No matter how much salt and pepper I added... More

The drive out to JJ's Cantina in Cholla Bay is well worth the drive! It is truly like stepping back in time to a Mexico before all of the developers arrived! The beer is ice cold and the conversations with the locals are plentiful and engaging!
