We had a great meal here and will definitely be coming back. It's a small place so make sure that you book if you want to get in on a weekend. Some people have said that they had to wait a long time for food but we did not think that was the case. It's not one of those places where the food is warmed up and is ready in a few minutes, it is freshly prepared and worth the wait. Really good tasty food.

My favourite restaurant in MK

I have been going to Akasaka Wolverton since it first opened and it has only gotten better! When the Central MK restaurant opened, it was bigger but I still prefer Wolverton. Its more intimate and we are treated so well by all the staff, especially Thierry. They know exactly how we like our food and are most accommodating to my vegetarian desires. CMK chefs don't have that personal touch. We ❤️ Akasaka Wolverton!!!!

Amazing Sushi

If you love Sushi/Sashimi, definitely this place is right for you. Small, great service and food. A bit expensive but worth it, they make it to order, so it does take time to arrive on the table, the fish are so thick but soft, melts on your tongue. My advice is to book, if you what to go, as they only have 30 seatings. My boyfriend and daughter have been here a few times but this was my first time and will not be my last.

Romantic meal

I went to Akasaka many years ago, what can I say, amazing food , great service and an all in all great night. However I returned this evening with much excitement..what can I say? ..freezing cold temperature inside. We had to eat our 'not cheap' food in scarfs and a coat and all of the other tables had coats on too. We mentioned this to staff who made a pointless attempt to turn the heating up. At one point I had to pull my jumper sleeves over my hands to warm them up. The food was great but obviously went cold in seconds...such a shame that the sheer coldness of this establishment ruined the entire experience. Upon paying the bill I commented to the waitress about how cold it was in there...reply; " yes it is cold this time of year." Yes outside for sure, hence why we fork out to go and eat in what should be nicely heated establishments..What a tiny error that could have made the experience soo much better

What has happened to the service

We have been regular diners here for some years. Never had an issue but, unfortunately, tonight has put us off going back again. We booked but were seated right by the door. I was a bit apprehensive as it's a very cold night but thought we would be looked after and maybe it would be OK. I was wrong. The restaurant was so cold I and my husband had to eat in our coats and still, I was shivering all the way through our meal. I asked the waitress if we could be moved as there were a few empty tables . We were told no and told maybe sitting side by side would help! I used the ladies facilities and it was absolutely freezing in there. This is not good enough frankly. My husband ordered a second beer and had to ask again 15 minutes later and they weren't busy enough to warrant the delay. Our last course we waited 30 minutes (30 very cold minutes that is) I have come home not only cold to the core but extremely disappointed at the decline in service and ambiance we experienced today. Can we please have the old service back because unless it is returned we won't be. Came home and saw another review about the cold so thus isn't a one off.

Great experience and very tasty food

We booked, and then read the last couple of reviews here and wondered what our night would be like.. Well, we can happily say that any issues with cold or service were invisible to us. The restaurant appeared to have taken note of the previous reviews and had made sure there was heating and the restaurant was warm. We were able to choose where we would like to sit and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food we ordered was excellent, the telling pont was my partner ponting out I was attempting to eat every tiny iota from my plate with chopsticks. - I was just focused on trying to make sure I didn't miss out on a single tasty morsel! Service was cheerful, knowledgable and attentive during the meal but not overbearing at all, and responsive when needed - no haplessly trying to catch anyones eye, they were discretely paying attention and responded immediately when we wanted anything. Overall a very enjoyable, unrushed and relaxed experience. Will definitely be going again!

Bloody hell, if you want fresh Japanese or Sushi, you must try this place, and what's better, all 3 (I think there are now) are all as good as each other, eat in or take out. The range and quality is incredible! You cannot go wrong! Plus + try the wines! Blackberry, plum... The choice of sake, this place is fan-tastic 😁😁😁

Fantastic food, great service. Hidden gem!

We have been here before, quite a few times, but have not been for a couple of years. We went this evening and were really impressed. The food was incredible, and the service outstanding; it seems like this place has really stepped up a notch! We were even offered some tasters of Korean wine which was really interesting. We ended up having a few rounds of sushi and then finishing with some tempura. Fantastic! Cannot wait to return.

Great food but check your take away before leaving!

I ordered a take away for collection. I was told it would be 20 minute wait but it was only 10 minutes. I sat and waited as I did not mind. It was empty in the restaurant, only one couple arrived for dinner. It was very cold and I would not have wanted to dined in. The food was tasty. Unfortunately by the time I had got home with my take away I noticed my side salad missing and no salt on the edamame. Great food overall, but items shouldn’t be missing for a simple one person order.

This was our first visit, though we have been meaning to try Akasaka for some time .. we weren’t disappointed.. the food was cooked well, presented cleanly & the depth of flavour awesome. We can’t wait to go again. We were very impressed with their social distancing measures .. service was excellent. The staff were very personable, approachable, polite & efficient. Would highly recommend..

fantastic all round, food tastes where amazing, not much to say really 10/10. make sure you book as small seating area. easy parking out the front and very nice surrounding. Has A/C also for hot days which its a bonus

Excellent service, food is amazing

This is a quaint restaurant, not too many tables. Highly recommend booking a table. Service is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and delicious. Not too many vegetarian options for sushi but there are starters and other dishes. We’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints. It’s quite a drive about 40 mins from is but it’s worth it. This is my go to place for Japanese food.

Fantastic food and service! Have been wanting to try this place for a while now and it did not disappoint! Lovely ambience and friendly staff! Can’t wait to come again! Food was delicious for both me and my partner. Vegetarian options were also great!

Perfect meal out

Just perfect . Ten of us went for a birthday celebration and each meal was delicious and enjoyed ( we all rated this place so much - had to write a review ) . Service was brilliant , will definitely go back !
