We stop for lunch and our expectations where from "Ok" to "we need to eat". Service very slow, and don't care much if you are hungry or not... They will give you attention when they feel you are ready.... We have to ask for everything, even when we arrive, they were rude and never ask us... We have to ask... More

Once again El Viejo provided the best shrimp tacos of our trip and we tried A LOT! The shrimp are very lightly fried and the salsa bar provides anything you can imagine to top them. From tomatoes in crema to chipotle salsa to roasted peppers...it's all amazing! It's a bummer they close at 3 or we would have visited multiple... More

Never a complaint. The food is always good and so reasonable. This is a very popular place in town for breakfast and lunch.

The food is absolutely cooked to perfection (great seafood and salsa bar). I highly recommend El Viejo and only wish they were ope for dinner.

We came here for brunch. Kids had panckes, eggs and bacon and fried fish. We had fish tacos and seafood enchiladas. We ordered home made jamaica juice. Coffee was very good. All and all food was good. Service was good. And no tummy aches after.

A great "Hole-in-the-wall" joint. Not to be missed. Our only complaint is that it is only open until 3 p.m. as we were busy most days until after 3. Fresh seafood, reasonable prices, good portions, friendly service, locally-owned, family-run. All dining is outside under shade, so no AC, but plenty of fans to keep off the bugs & keep you... More

Great breakfast and lunch. Great value too. Viejo was recommended by multiple locals. Doesn't take credit cards.

It's always a pleasure to stop by here for lunch... What a deal. 20 bucks will feed a few friends as well as cool them off with an ice cold Pacifico beer...As usual the place is full of Gringo expats who know a good deal...This is not a bad thing as many of them have been living in town for... We ate lunch here a few times during our week stay in Los Barriles and the tacos are so good and all of the food is reasonably priced. We had chicken, shrimp and fish tacos and I liked that we could put our own toppings on (toppings were red and green salsa, cabbage, peppers, lime, etc). We will definitely be... More

I don't see reviews for any of Los Barriles' many restaurants or the local attractions for that matter. I live here and would be glad to provide more information about this great little town if you are interested.
