The food at The Ship Inn is always superb. The menu has something for everyone and there is usually a couple of specials to accompany the menu too. The welcome is always friendly and it’s cosy inside. Highly recommend. There is parking on site too.

What a wonderful surprise at the end of our walk! The Ship Inn’s Sunday lunch was certainly well worth a 6 mile hike. The food was ‘just like home’ (only better!) - the beef was beautifully cooked, with Yorkshire pudding and a range of vegetables...and roasties. The roast chicken received good reviews too. Service was friendly and helpful - thank you so much for a great meal.More

We decided to try the Sunday roast as the reviews were good. It was excellent! The beef was medium rare and loads of lovely veg too all for £12, the drinks were also reasonably priced and the service very friendly. It is to be expected...that after the last 18 months food and drink costs will increase, but this lovely little pub are not on the bandwagon of charging extortionate prices. Well done!More

My family and I were away in Hampshire and my parents stumbled upon this pub on a drive to New Arlesford. They nipped in for a drink and were in love straight away. They commented on the friendly welcome and the great beer and cider....Consequently, we booked in for dinner the next evening and were not disappointed. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in and were well looked after throughout our meal. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. If we are ever in the area again, I will definitely be sure to visit.More

We were spending a few days walking Winchester to Alton in a heatwave. Although we carried water we ended up stopping off a number of times to quench our thirst. Our drink of choice was soda and lime. The average cost of two pints of...this was £2.80. However we were charged £5.60 at the Ship. I was served at the bar and we drank our drink in the beer garden. We were at the time deciding where to return to for an evening meal. Needless to say we did not return hereMore

Good new menu for the May 2021 re-opening after lockdown and reasonably priced. Excellent service as usual, good Covid protocols in place and a very pleasant experience all round.
