The George is in Alstonefield, a pretty Peak District village. There are no other shops or pubs, so it has a monopoly on the holiday lets and second homers who make up most of the population here. On arrival, we stood at the bar without...More

Overall a disappointing experience and poor value for money. We had reserved a table. We were given a table in the very cold bar, with the bar manager even making a joke about it. We discovered later there was a warmer restaurant room, but for...More

We used the Coach House for a family birthday gathering of 30 people. Food was excellent. Service was good, and the staff were very obliging. I would certainly recommend this venue.

Have been to The George in the past with our very well behaved dog and always felt welcomed, how things have changed! The tiled area where you can eat accompanied by your dog has been reduced to two tables. Following a walk in the country...More

A welcome sight after a three-hour Peak District walk. Cosy ancient pub with open fire and good food: we enjoyed the smoked mackerel on toast and fish and chips. Well done management for not having canned music.

So sorry but I can't help you there as we dined at lunch time and our kids are fully grown . I'm sure if you phoned the pub they would advise you .

They are very welcome in a small quarry tiled area of the pub. If you are joining us for a meal its best to book. Hope to see you soon!
