We had the pleasure to visit Alstonefield in the peak district last weekend. It is a beautiful little village and we would highly recommend staying at number 2 cottage which can be booked via Alstonefield Manor. We ate at the George pub in the centre...More

I had booked this restaurant having read the TripAdvisor reviews which I was a bit sceptical of, surely nowhere can be that good. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and I wanted the perfect evening, the Peak District route from Leek to the venue provided...More

I booked a table having never been before and right away was impressed that the person on the phone asked if anyone at the table had any dietary requirements. When we arrived we were taken to our table promptly and served drinks. When we ordered...More

Beautiful setting and good value food. We were late for our booking but they held the table for us. The bonus was that dogs are allowed in certain areas of the restaurant.

Imaginative food in lovely, traditional but tastefully decorated - no brass horse shoes - pub. Frequented by locals and visitors - especially passing hikers and cyclists - but also foodies. Somewhat limited choice for gluten free diners - although not marked as gluten free, the...More

They are very welcome in a small quarry tiled area of the pub. If you are joining us for a meal its best to book. Hope to see you soon!
