Excellent selection of imported and local beers on tap and in bottles. Dinner menu a cut above the average Irish pub. Reasonable prices. Quick and efficient staff. Busy and friendly atmosphere. For us, the best pub in Banff.

St James Irish Pub reminded me so much of Ireland! The fish and chips were great and a very large serving and the Guinness was very refreshing.

On our trip through the Rockies, we stayed for 3 nights in Banff and this Irish Pub was in walking distance from our hotel. The Shepherd was very good as well as the salad at a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and most from Australia....More

Once again traditional pub fare proved unbeatable. We had Shephard's pie and Guiness Steak pies respectively together with very tasty IPA's.

I went there as a diner. I saw some children with their families. We were there at a family dining time around 6:00/6:30 pm.

Our Story Begins in Ireland Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, St. James's Gate, established in 1996, was built and manufactured in Dublin, Ireland. The authenticity of the imported Irish woodwork and fantastic artifacts make St. James Gate one of the premier Irish Pubs in the world. The Gate has a warm friendly atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. Rub shoulders with local residents and tourists from around the world. The bartenders are friendly and prepare the drinks with care and consideration and the staff proves just what a capable & fun group of servers is worth. It's everything an Irish Pub should be.
