We had the chef's tasting menu and every item was superb. You won't leave hungry. The wine list is ample but very short on BC wines. Service is cheerful and attentive.

We've sampled a lot of Indian food in Vancouver and there are many good choices. We tried Salam Bombay today and were really pleased with the lunch buffet. We think it is one of the best we've had in any Indian restaurant. All of the selections were excellent and the service top notch. Also, its a great location downtown.

When we found out that 2 of our 6 for a dinner party were vegan, and 2 were vegetarians, we thought "Why not order in Indian"? When I searched for the best Indian restaurants in Vancouver, Salam Bombay came up first. What a perfect decision! The food was delicious, and that was the opinion of one of our guests who's... We stopped by for dinner on a snowy, slushy Friday night. There were not very many people in the restaurant but probably due to the weather. The staff greeted us warmly and were very friendly and attentative throughout the meal. We started with vegetable samosas and had the chicken vindaloo and lamb curry with rice and naan for entrees. All... More

After two weeks holiday from UK experiencing fine Canadian food I was in need of a good curry!! I trawled the internet and finally chose Salam Bombay. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. Warm welcome, excellent service, and one of the best Indian meals I have eaten ANYWHERE, including top restaurants in India. I was really really impressed.

My husband and I were traveling the West, from the Southeast! We went into Salam Bombay, from the recommendation of our tour guide, Meghan, land and sea adventure tours.......We could not have been happier. The header waiter , helped us selected our food. We didn't eat Indian cuisine! The food was Awesome, our Chardonnay was on point. The atmosphere was... More

This is our favourite indian restaurant and we go there whenever we visit Vancouver (approx every 6 months). We have never had a meal that was less than excellent. The food is always full of flavour and just the right portion size. There is no pressure to purchase extra drink as the water glasses are kept full and the service... More

I went to a business dinner here during a conference and this is the perfect location with delicious food. I had the daal and lamb (with spinach, can't remember the actual name) but it was superb! Try this place. You won't be disappointed.

Had dinner here yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. Salam Bombay has a modern feel to it with a fantastic view of the city. The service last night was very attentive. We started off with some red wine and chicken malai kababs as appetizers. Then we tried a lamb dish where the rice was seasoned very well. Dessert involved rasmalai... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
