We went here for a stagette party and had a really great experience. First of all it was one of literally zero places that would take a reservation. As you can imagine timelines and confirmations are optimal for planning an event. The food was flavourful...More

We visited for the first time on a Saturday night, and it will be the only time, I think. On the surface, the restaurant seemed to have a lot of potential. Great menu, cool atmosphere, and decent location. The servers were very congenial, too. Unfortunately...More

Came here for appies at 7pm on a Friday night. Place was pretty busy, most tables full. It's a small restaurant with a small patio. Vibe was very trendy, lots of young people and it gets noisy. I had a Caesar which was good although...More

South Main
South Main, or SoMa, is a neighbourhood in upswing.
Inhabited by young humanitarian professionals in
converted lofts and studio apartments, what was once
an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage
and eco fashion shops, contemporary sawdust-floor
galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting

Description
Tucked in a hundred year-old house that was once home to Bains Chocolates, the polished concrete floor shimmers of ground cocoa and the restored features of the original structure transform the old café into a beautiful new restaurant lounge. A restaurant that’s built with the same classic cooking methods used back then with no deep-fryer or microwave. We pride ourselves on providing great fresh Pacific Rim dishes with a focus on local produce. Our vegetables are hand picked from Granville Island or our local farmers markets, our charcuterie meats straight from Oyama and our Oceanwise seafood from Deluxe. Our bar program follows the same strong standards with fresh juices and house made syrups.
