Poutine sounds like something that would make your cardiologist turn white: french fries, cheese curds, topped off by beef gravy. At mean poutine, The french fries are at such a perfect level of crunchiness, and as an wonderful flavor. I asked the lady who is working with the use to fry the french fries, and she said it was a... More

This restaurant is a carry-out window, with barely enough room inside for the two workers. Classic poutine, and several variations/toppings available. Fries stay crispy in the gravy, the cheese curds are fresh, the gravy is thick. The hot dogs are large, but re-warmed, nothing really special here. Service was very friendly. 7$ for a classic poutine. As the man says,... More

Had the regular poutine, fries were freshly done and crunchy, not enough cheese curds though. Thumbs up, took awhile to get order done even though I was the only customer. The lone worker there was busy cleaning.

Ive not had a hotdog in years, but i decided (cause i saw how big they are) to get one.why not. But i was very disappointed-he small hot dog carts in vamcouver do better and they have less space. I was told that the hot dog will take a few minutes cause it had to be put on the grill.... More

We have visited Mean Poutine many, many times and it's always great. That being said, I don't think I've ever had a sober poutine! This is the ultimate drunk food on a night out in Vancouver. Portions are huge and the food is really fresh! Mr Mean Poutine always greets us with a smile and prepares everything to order. I... More

Probably wouldn't go out of your way to eat here, but if you're in the neighborhood and have a hankering for some good poutine, this place will certainly do. The decor is, well, like a rundown college town dive. Oddly enough, the diners themselves mainly look like college students too. Had the triple pork specialty poutine, which was very tasty... More

First time having Poutine, would highly recommend this place, fries stayed crispy, and gravy had exceptional flavor.

Rushed to try this mean thing just before it closes at 4pm. Saw a lot of recommendations on the web. I always try the tradition poutine, that's the way I like it. The gravy is good, tasty and enough to cover all the fries, but there wasn't enough cheese for me. The green onion was a nice touch. And somehow... More

Staying in Granville Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
