I was skeptical going in, but oh boy they knocked it out of the park. Delicious soup and sandwich. Rueben sandwich and red lentil soup was amazing! The coffee was pretty good too. You should come here instead of near by cafes for lunch :)

This place was recommended by the bike shop just steps away. The bike guy told us, "you won't forget the bread," as it's all homemade. We went to grab a quick bite before biking around town. Thoroughly impressed by the awesome amounts of flavor coming out of such a tiny little place. It was a place that you really wouldn't... More

Just have to add another 5 star vote, even though the chef here prefers word of mouth to Yelp. Since we were visiting Vancouver from Florida and are not likely to return, I'd just like to say that this place is as good as it gets. We had the rosemary chicken and angus beef sandwiches, both perfectly prepared by a... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
