The coffee is good, okay, but the really compelling reason to go here is the cinnamon buns. They are truly spectacular in every way. As soon as you walk in, the smell of baking and of cinnamon hits you and you KNOW that you will have to buy at least one. Dreamy.

Whenever I'm in town with the wife,we always buy a six pack and one extra for the drive home back to Surrey. The buns are always fresh, warm and without doubt the tastiest anywhere in the city. The location on Alma and Broadway toward UBC is worth the extra time and effort trying to find any parking spot nearby! I know they did... More

Grounds of Coffee has held down their reputation as the best cinnamon buns in Vancouver for at least a decade. The icing makes all the difference. coffee is also good. An easy place to meet for coffee and indulgent cinnamon buns.

A little bakery / coffee house. It's a brick building near broadway. Some special coffees are decorated in different themes. The pastry specialty is the cinnamon roll. a must try!

Grounds for Coffee is right. They make the best cinnamon buns! Made fresh daily, with the option of icing or no icing (choose icing!), they go so well with their fair trade coffee. Since I have a nut allergy, this place was a great find for me, as they are also NUT FREE!

I dislike cinnamon but these cinnamon buns are to die for. Warm and oozing with syrup, topped with delicious icing. And the coffee is good, n fact the best coffee I've found in Vancouver so far that could almost rival Melbourne Australia coffee.

Nice little coffee shop with fair trade organic coffee but it's the amazing cinnamon bun's which are made fresh throughout the day that keep me coming back. I don't get here often so when I do I always like to have a coffee and cinnamon bun and then get a box to take home for the family. You can get... More

I went to UBC in the days when the Cinnamon Buns were still sinfully, unhealthily, buttery. (And the grilled BLT sandwich!!) Heard the CBs are great here so i tried it on a recent trip back to YVR. The buns are very good; and there is something about watching the baker making the bun right behind the counter! For my... More

Cozy coffee shop with excellent coffee and exceptional baked goods. While the cinnamon buns are their claim to fame, the muffins are stellar as well (especially the Superfruit!)

It was a few years back, and a friend went to a coffee shop to grab a coffee, since I do not drink coffee, I asked him to get me a treat.... Little did I know he would be introducing me to one of my top 3 favourite treats of all time.... To say that Grounds For Coffee has the... More

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighbourhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
