This is one of the main restaurants we take our out-of-town guests here in Vancouver. The food is excellent, and the ambiance is authentic. The beautiful decor, including the sit-in booths, the patio in the summer, or the cushions on the floor with low tables...More

You can eat at a regular table or reclining on the floor. The food is amazing and I highly recommend one of the share platters. The potatoes sliced and battered in chick pea flower and spices are a favourite and both the lamb skewers and...More

In a word - disappointing. Although the restaurant was not busy, our order arrived cold at our table. It took over 10 minutes to get it warmed up. I had to go into the kitchen to find out what was happening. The food was bland...More

Had the worst service ever. Not even a greeting from wait staff. Never came back to check on us. Not a smile during the entire time we were there, though they did to other white couples sitting next to us. Food appeared like they were...More

Had my friends birthday dinner here over the weekend. One of the best meals and best service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Our server was so kind and professional. The food was amazing! I would definitely recommend eating here.

This restaurant is the first afghani restaurant in Canada. I believe it, as I first went there in 1975, it is as good today as it was then. Best enjoyed in a group. Not a place to rush. Expect to take your time, 1.5 to...More

A possibly overlooked gem of a restaurant and dining / cultural experience (at least by me, as it has been perhaps 20 years since I have been here!) - really, it should not be missed! If one is somewhat familiar with Indian or Persian cuisine,...More

We took our 14 month old with us for supper early one evening and we're pleasantly surprised. The food was superb. Even the toddler ate it all! We opted for a shared platter since we had never eaten Afghan food before. I'm not generally a...More
