Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are English and was very much looking forward to trying out the local fish and chips! Unfortunately we got served fries not chips! The fries were good but not traditional “chip shop chips!” The fish was great and the chowder was even better!

An easy 5 stars for the quality of the BC Halibut in the fish n chips and the QUANTITY. The fish is generous and lovely - the fish h chips is not oily and very crispy. Exactly how it should be.

Always a solid choice and well worth standing in line. Great place on a sunny day over looking the harbor. The food is fresh and always filling. A must do when visiting Victoria.

Stopped over while waiting for ferry. About 3/4 mile each way. Definitely worth the effort. Saw a lot of people getting fish and chips and the fish looked excellent. Also saw several “tacones” wraps. Chose Wild Salmon (grilled) and Cod “tacones”. Loved both. Really good...coleslaw (no mayonnaise) was inside the wrap with the fish. Excellent seasoning with the “million island” dressing lightly applied. Super Fresh, Super Good. Great value at $9 Canadian. If I could only get one, I would choose the Cod. But both were great. Very friendly staff. Always a handful of people in line, but it moves quickly.More

It's been expanded! Same great food but now more room for outdoor seating and for the staff to make great dishes. There are umbrellas, bar style seating offering great views of the harbor and planes taking off from the gorge. Don't go feeding the gulls...now. Lots of paid parking near the airport entrance. Be a regular.More

Outdoor seating only, lineups over mealtimes but the menu is great and the food worth waiting for. Our favourite is the Cod Tacones!! If really hungry though, go with the Cod Dog!!!

Great spot and great preparation. Fresh and delicious. We had great fun here. My daughter is a celiac and she didn’t like much of the food there but she had grilled fish twice that made me so happy. Their pickles and onions were delicious too.

Red Fish Blue Fish was one of the highlights of our family trip to Victoria. Loved the taste of nearly everything! We were lukewarm on the coleslaw, otherwise the cod and chips were awesome. So fresh, battered perfectly and a good portion. The fries were...excellent, though you do feel a few more chips for the cost would not be the worst thing in the world. My daughter's wrap was gobbled up quickly. The tartar sauce was probably the best tartar sauce, I've ever had anywhere. Located on Wharf st, RFBF offers a wonderful view of the Harbour in Victoria. An absolute must to enjoy a full "Victoria" experience!More

I had many good fish and chip meals here last year. I ordered lunch today March 15 and got a rubbery hard 4 inch by one inch piece of overcooked fish, cold chips that looked frozen not fresh cut and the chowder had no fish...only corn. I'm an older person and we don't usually make a scene and take food back for a refund. I threw the food in the garbage. The man getting his order after me had a piece of fish three times the size of mine and fresh cut chips. That's what I expected from the visits last year. I talked to a man in a fish shop today. He figured the fish had been cooked for someone else and reheated in a microwave to give it the texture it had. For $25.50 for a piece of fish and chips and cup of soup plus a tip consider taking your business to a place that is consistent in quality.More

Alfrsco eats by the warf. We always come here after a complicated family gathering to be on out on our on for a restorative low key cheap eats while we and enjoy the planes ,boats, people and seaulls, not in any order. The f&c is excellent...as well.I won't go into all the details of fish and batter etc etc....They know what they are doing and they do it quickly and well.If you are a F&C devotee you will know what I mean. Its the only ever f&C joint where I actually dig in to tip them a twonie for what they do.More

This spot is great for a casual lunch or dinner. Outside seating, some of it covered. The food is great. My husband had fish and chips and liked it very much. I had grilled salmon and salad. The fish was grilled to perfection, greens very...fresh and plentiful.More

Very scenic location. Counter service only, so sometimes there is a wait, but no worries, the food is worth it. My favourite is the CodDog, but today I went with a tacone. Delicious!!

Down below Wharf St., right on a harbour dock, sits a ship container that is home to fine cuisine. No fancy table cloths are found here but there are stools, benches, counters where you can sit and watch planes and boats come and go. The...seafood is first rate in taste and design, and a popular favourite (often the line-up is long). Pay parking is available on both sides of the dock down ramps accessed as you travel south only on Wharf.More
