Had a meal for 3 here, came to over $80. I ordered the chicken souvlaki which came with a very small portion of chicken. The vegetables on the side seemed to be frozen and reheated by their texture. The rice was flavourless. The food was served lukewarm. The only upside is a nice setting and fresh breadrolls.

Ambiance is lovely modern/chic. Really varied menu. Food was tasty and closer to Italian dishes we experienced in Italy, not overly smothered in sauces but quality ingredients. Service is background, similar to European style. No rush, ask for what you want, enjoy your evening with your company. Some in our group felt the service was less attentive. Having traveled allot,... More

As always the food was fresh, hot, and fantastic. The owner takes pride in his dishes and it shows. Real Italian food made by an actual Italian. Crazy eh ? LOL Best Calamari in the city. The pizza is good but many other things on the menu would be a better choice for a special evening out. The waitress was... More

Most Italian restaurants overcook seafood and it ruins the experience. This food was delicious and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Service is pleasant and prompt but not invasive. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Just a really lovely place on Osborne and one I would recommend highly.

A number of years ago, we tried Monticchio's and were extremely surprised by the delicious food and reasonable prices. Eighteen months ago we thought we'd go back and were extremely disappointed, in both the food and the service. We chalked it up that every place can have an "off" night (even though it never seems to happen in the majority... More

This is the first visit we've had to Monticchio's and we were anticipating a wonderful meal after hearing great things from friends & family alike. The location is in a great spot to catch a bite before walking a few doors down for some local entertainment at the Park Theatre. The retaurant is bi-level which makes it cozy, yet open... More

We went to Monticchio for a family birthday. While we have been there several times in years past we had not been back recently. The mussels, both Monticchio classics and Sambucca, were as amazing as we remembered. The food was hot and served in a timely fashion. But the hi-light for me was the older gentleman who wandered around the... More

try to visit once every month or so. Staff is very knowledgable about the menu and the food is always piping hot when plated. Love the bread but have to watch not to eat too much before receiving your food. Looking forward to our next visit as they have a new menu. It is also very affordable.

We've been here many times; they never disappoint The bread knots served with dinner are amazing and the entrees are great value considering the large portion size. Lemon veal and lemon chicken would have to be our go-to's. Whole menu is delicious!

Let me be absolutely clear: if all you care about is the food, this is the place for you. The chef is the only one there who gives a darn. If you expect polite servers to go along with it, go somewhere else. But the food is fantastic! Among the best Italian in Winnipeg.
