Good list of local beers and ciders as well as craft beers from away. Food menu was also very good as the title would imply.

The Ale house definitely offers beer lover's a wide variety of brews to choose from. The food alone however is worth the visit. In a rustic but trendy setting you can relax, enjoy great food and if you grab a window booth, enjoy the view of the boardwalk and harbour. In the summer you can also choose to enjoy on... More

We have been before and again we enjoyed the food. Service was a little slower and less efficient this trip but overall a good experience. My wife enjoyed the Beef pudding dish and I tried the Slipp Farm Burger, very good but maybe I bit off more than I could chew-one big burger for sure.

A beer for every possible desire, and a menu that is current and eclectic for a beer house. There are a lot of items that can be altered for vegetarians, but not indicated on the menu so ask. Great fries, Bruschetta, Portobello burger and Brussels sprouts. Friend enjoyed the club.

Sat upstairs for drinks and apps with my wife. During our meal we saw no less than 5 mice run across the dining room at various places. Waiter also saw them and tried to pass them off as coming from the mall. Not acceptable. He is not to blame. His service was excellent and was obviously embarrassed by this. If... More

While visiting St. John, we ate there twice with different reactions. The thing you should know is they change the menu every 3 days according to the staff. Our first visit was 5 stars all the way. The seafood was hot and delicious; in fact the best we had while in the city. Three nights later the menu had changed... More

Came here for an evening meal and caught part of a festival here at the waterfront in St John NB. We ordered the kids fried chicken grilled chicken, cheese burger and buttermilk chicken. We had to wait a while and felt service was poor. Not sure why the case as they had lots of staff standing idle doing nothing. The... More

We had dined at the Ale House in years past. This time the food was not tasty, service impersonal, and the restaurant lacked warmth. Appropriate for accommodating large cruise ships.

My fiance and I stopped in for a late lunch, and we were quite impressed with the selection of naturally sourced pub fare, most of which is locally purchased. Great burger, and I got to have it cooked as I wished, which was medium for me. I would definitely recommend and I plan to repeat when in Saint John!!
