Very impressed with the food, the Crispy Smelts were excellent and they had 1 cider on tap for those who want an option to beer.

My wife and I have eaten there many times..and been lucky every time. It is a Very popular place with the younger crowd ( 30-45), but we older folks love the seafood ,especially the fish and chips. The service is as one would expect in a very busy restaurant. This is not a "fast food place ", nor is it... More

Loved this place! Ate in the tavern during busy Friday suppertime rush. Still, friendly and speedy service. Man, what a selection of local beers! I ordered their cheeseburger, added bacon, medium rare, and it was the best burger I've had in a restaurant ever! The fries were also tasty, and crisp. We'll be back!

If you want to be on the cutting edge of the food movement in Saint John, this is your front row seat. Very relaxed atmosphere offset by impeccably cooked and presented local creations. The fact that they brew beer right there is a bonus. Top marks from me.

I crave this place regularly. Amazing quality and flavours. The fries are to die for and the buttermilk chicken fingers are like no other! This place will not disappoint. When we visit Saint John we always make a point to dine here.

I met up with some longtime friends on Saturday night at the Alehouse. We all had a lovely meal and some wine. We also had happy-belly when we left and that's important :) Nice service and atmosphere. A rather upscale dining venue

Have not been here for a while, so felt it was time to visit again. The ambiance here is very nice. We were met at the door with a warm friendly smile and promptly taken to our table. Our waiter was very friendly and fully informed on all the dishes they served. We both decided on "Pasture Raised Chicken Ballantine"... More

Stopped in for lunch today and had the buttermilk chicken fingers and fries (substituted in a spinach salad!). The food was fantastic, definitely a great chef in the kitchen! Our server, Jaret, was hands down amazing! We asked for a some specific beer recommendations and his knowledge and choices were top notch! I'd return there simply for his level of... More

We have eaten at ale house quite a few times and have recommended it to others. However our meal this time was only ok, food was luke warm, and in my opinion, was overpriced for mediocre pub food- will not be back anytime soon
