I used to frequent this place. Last time I was there the burger, fries, and gravy were so ridiculously salty they were inedible. My wife and I vowed this would be the last time we ever visited Twist.

Hi Tyler D., Thanks for making Twist and Shout part of your lunch/dinner plans and thanks for the feedback. I can see how your fries may have been over salted since we salt them "on the go" and by hand, but the burger and gravy are made with a specific recipe which calls for a specific amount of spices. The... More

Friend and I wanted to give this place a shot even though we heard nothing but bad things about it. Well, we waited about 1.5 hours for our food, even though there was probably three other small tables in the resto. When we got our food it was so very bad (bruschetta store bought and soggy, burger and bun rock... More

Hi there, Thanks for making Twist part of your lunch/dinner plans. I'd like to inform yourself and other readers of the following: -the bruschetta we serve is made in-house. It isn't store bought. -we don't use a heat lamp in our kitchen as we cook to-order. The only food we have sitting in warmers are gravy and soup. -besides yesterday... More

Had lunch here recently. Food was delicious and well priced. Staff was friendly, courteous and service was great. Atmosphere was the best we found in Yellowknife. Was nice to find a place to eat that didn't feel like and old rundown shack.

After an extended stay in yellowknife finding most restaurants shady at best this place was a relief to find. Great food, clean and not overpriced. Will be returning!

Recommended by a front desk staff at Days Inn (actually she recommended Fuego which is in the lower level of the building and belongs to the same owner, but was closed). Not sure of the food quality as Twist appears to be offering pub food. We ordered fish and chips, grilled sandwich, chicken wings, lasagna. All are good. Companion sai... More

Great price, average wings. Tried several flavours and not anything to write home about. Commercial sauces and not crispy. Although not busy, service was very slow, 15 mins from receiving bill to close out tab and had to constantly flag staff for drinks. Heard good things about other menu items so won't rule out but better wings in town.

I stopped in with a friend of mine for the first time for a quick lunch while in Yellowknife for meetings. It had a bit of a "bar" atmosphere which wasn't what we were looking for, but ended up being served an excellent lunch. The music was a bit loud for lunch time otherwise I would have given it 5... Had a super quinoa salad. Easy going and attentive servers. We went with the server's recommendation for perogies as an appetizer and it was a real winner.

Hi, Thanks for the kind review. Many customers have told us how much they appreciate having a variety of vegetarian dishes to pick from. We are in the process of creating a new menu which will have new and tasty options. Hope to serve you again in the near future! -Jason More

On our rounds of YK restaurants I found this to be a very good spot for a Friday afternoon lunch. The beer was cold and the food well prepared. I would spend time here again.

Came in at 12:15, food servied at 12:50 and we had to take it to go. Sher served me a warm canned Pepsi without a glass or ice. While the waitress did apologize about the wait, she said "well, you weren't the only ones in here". This happened to us the last time we were here. Her attitude was not... More

Hi there, Thanks for visiting us back in May. Since then, we've made changes to the menu and how we operate in order to provide faster service at lunch. We still require 20-30 min to prepare your meal, since we cook to order, but our track record in customer satisfaction has definitely improved, for speed of lunch service. The next... More
