One of the originals in Yellowknife. Great food and a view of backbay. Not open in the winter ? Log cabin, pole roof

I ate dinner here with a group of colleagues. The weather was good, so we sat outside and had a beautiful view. This is a rustic log building with equally rustic campsite tables. But the food is fantastic. I had the bison stew with bannock--could...More

This place got caught serving Frozen Perch from Kazakhstan as Great Slave Lake Pickerel ($33). That tells you pretty much everything you need to know.... you can look up the article yourself, it made the CBC News.

This was a cafe at one time, but has long been closed. Now, it is simply a historical site, see the attached plaque.

The Cafe is in a really nice, really old building. We went there for lunch and it was good food. We ate a buffalo wrap and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, even when we ordered all the meals with special wishes.

Good food and cold beer and not too bad of prices for this far out of the way place. It's small so we shared a table which we enjoy as it gives you a chance to meet other people. Not as rustic on the inside...More
