Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Except during the height of the pandemic, we have been here for nearly every birthday and anniversary since Piatto opened 34 years ago. Sadly they will close soon to make way for another Condo. But tonight was Excellent. I had the Provini liver. I usually...have it; this is one of a very few places where I trust the liver. My wife had Rainbow Trout which she raved over. And we shared a beef carpaccio. Same servers, same good food, same good service. Another enjoyable anniversary.More

It was our first time here. Thank you to the team, most especially Patricio. We ordered the liver pate to start, Elk dish, and liver dish as our mains and the tiramisu. All orders were fantastic. Patricio offered us two glasses of Frangelico, along with...the history of the beverage in Italy. We were introduced to a new favourite dessert drink. Great local, service-oriented environment. Patricio and his colleagues were very service oriented and a delight to deal with. We will certainly return. We can't wait to come back!More

Piatto is upscale comfort food. Nothing too spicy or exotic. Just delicious Mediterranean flavored salads, pastas and meat dishes. We had not visited since before the pandemic and it was so good to be back! Patrick "Al Pacino" took good care of us, refilling water...and wine as needed. I had a burrata, beet and tomato salad that was a taste sensation and the veal scallopini Piatto with grilled oyster mushrooms. Very rich and very satisfying. We won't wait so long to return.More

Wonderful to see Piatto has opened an outside patio but now also in house dining. Back for a wonderful lunch with great service as always and wonderful food. The lamb tenderloin was the tenderest I've had. Look forward to my next experience here.

We have been there twice now and have enjoyed wonderful food and amazing service. One of the visits was a company dinner and the other was a family dinner. Every single person loved there food. Servers would make suggestions or change sauces to accomodate peoples...tastes. I just can't say enough great things!More

I have been to Piatto's several times and the food, service always good, however I often wonder why they do not use BLACK NAPKINS, was there recently and once again I found my black slacks with a little white stuff, I mean 90% of women...& men wear black. The other suggestion is to have the coffee cups warmed as they are cold when brought to the table, One more suggestion can you turn up the heat in the restaurant. Thanks Tom.More

Excellent service and food quality. The waiter recommended an excellent red wine for under $70. The appetizer was exceptional with the blue cheese, asparagus and Prosciutto. My favourite was the tuna crusted in sesame seed with wasabi sauce. One of the best places in Mississauga...with exceptional service.More

No words...really... Was here few times before and it was good. Came back tonight for dinner and service was the worst I’ve experienced ever...can’t even say last 10 or 20 years...really...EVER Although the waiters are working together there is absolutely no communication between them, you...tell one to come back in a minute to take your order and the other one comes in 10 seconds asking for your order You order with one and the other brings your food Then if they mess an order up they blame you...that happened 3 times in 1 visit...plus the rudeness is not acceptable I like to give 5 star reviews...sorry, this one doesn’t even deserve the 1...very disappointingMore

We first enjoyed Piatto Bistro for dinner in November 2018 and we had the opportunity to return for lunch in October 2019, so this is an update of our earlier review. This time we shared a spinach shrimp salad and an order of spaghettini pescatore,...both of which were nicely presented, accompanied by glasses of pinot grigio, followed by two coffees. The food and service were both very good and the lunch menu provides good value. Piatto Bistro is a really comfortable Italian restaurant in Mississauga and we look forward to our next visit.More

My husband and I came in for a dinner to celebrate both our birthdays. Appetizers -Fresh raspberry point oysters -Seared beef carpaccio No complaints about the apps, I wish there was more variety but for what it was, it was good. Main course -Veal chop...with mushrooms, seasonal veg -Bison with a berry sauce and seasonal veg My veal chop was overcooked (I ordered medium rare and it was well done), the veg were veg, but I will say they were perfectly cooked. The bison was done to perfection, the sauce complimented it perfectly. We got a complimentary creme brulee for our birthday but it was curdled, gritty and sunken. Absolutely awful,I had to ask for a regular creme brulee off the menu. That was definitely better than the complimentary one but wouldn't say it was the best. (I've attached both photos of the creme brulees) My husband had the chocolate espresso pate and he really enjoyed it. The wine list was lovely. Not too extensive but had beautiful options. The Service was ok. The waiters weren't particularly attentive or overly pleasant to our table. I'm definitely old school and think the service is part of the whole dining experience so that felt lackluster for sure. Bottom line:- The food was just ok. The service was just ok. I wasn't wowed, it just seemed average and I wouldn't return.More

I love this place. I went last night with family and friends. The service is good, as is the food. I heard it’s closing later this year. What a shame.
