I've been going to the Montreal Deli for several years. Love the food. Love the staff. Love the smoked meats!

While researching the best place to get a Reuben, Google took me to this place. I figured "why not?" even though they don't serve Reubens. The corned beef was pretty good, but you know what really sold me? Their french fries - they were so...good! I'd go back for those alone.More
Whenever I am in Mississauga I stop for lunch at this restaurant for lunch.... It is always good and tasty.
The food here is always good. The portions here are always generous and reasonably priced. I love their liver and onions with bacon. Not a lot of places offer it and do a good job in cooking the liver without making it tough to eat....The service is not always consistent, as it seems like they forget about you until they bring the food to your table or if they give you the bill. The washrooms are clean. This place needs a facelift as it's really old and tire looking.More
This used to be a great restaurant. We have visited four times in the last year. Each time commented it wasn’t like it used to be. The deli meat part is still good. Service was horrible in spite of few tables and enough wait staff....Sat for awhile before having to ask for menus. My garden salad was: a bowl of watery lettuce, little bits of red cabbage for colour I guess, and four very thin slices of tomato that you could see through and fell apart when picked up. My husband had to get up and ask for his second beer when our lunch was all but over. Avoid. We won’t be going back.More
My husban an I were looking g for a quick place for supper last night and would not break our bank account. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was pleantiful! There were many families in there . So much background laughter. The wait staff very pleasant....We will go there again next time we are in Mississauga.More
Too bad Montreal Deli is in a 70's-80's time warp b/c the location is good, food and menu prices are consistent and the wait staff are friendly. BTW, this is a family restaurant and not a traditional deli. It just happens to specialize in smoked...meat, corned beef, and pastrami cuts of aged brisket...great. portions are large. Good luck trying to convince the owners to update the place, floor to ceiling is in dire need. But it does appeal to me as diner-ish. Pizza is a hidden gem too, together with daily specials, and prime rib Fridays. Try it out.More
Stopped by here randomly after noticing it on Dundas. Glad I did. I spent a lot of time in Montreal as a kid and the smoked meat sandwiches brought me right back. The sandwiches are awesome. It’d be 10x better if they made their own...fries instead of using frozen ones.More
I had been to this restaurant before but it was 15 years ago, and an early morning business breakfast - my only memory was vague but positive. My wife and I tried again as our nearby regular weekend breakfast joint had gone downhill quickly after...a change in ownership. My first impression was that it looked nice inside - like most delis in Montreal. This impression changed quickly! A staff member asked if we needed a table for 2, and even though the place was 1/3 full, finding us a table seemed to be mentally challenging! She eventually sat us at a deuce, and then abandoned us for 15 minutes. When a gentleman who came in at the same time as us was being served his meal, she took our order. Food arrived within a decent timeframe and it was excellent. Good portions prepared as requested. Overall, good value. Shortly after our meal was served, it appears that the after-church crowd started to arrive as the place filled up within 10 minutes. The din got pretty loud, and that was when my wife and I started to notice the other patrons... Suffice to say that it was a different crowd. With the restaurant busy, the servers seemed to get flustered and inefficient - reacting in a constant panic. As opposed to waiting for our bill, I approached the cashier area, only to cause more stress for the staff. She had no record of what we ordered. Thankfully she took my word, created our bill, and I happily paid and left. Despite an excellent meal, I cannot imagine a need to return.More
Dropped in for a sandwich on the way to Toronto. Great sandwich with nice fresh bread. Fries, cole slaw and pickle were good. Pop is a little expensive at 2.25 plus 50 cents per refill.
If you crave a good montreal meat or corned beef sandwich with some fresh cut french fries this is the place to get them. As indicated in the title this is not fine dining and the decor has not changed in years but you can...get a good hearty deli type meal here for a reasonable price.More
Food, prices and service are excellent. Decor is old, but ok, nothing fancy. They do a very good job of looking after a large group. Many different selections and all met our expectations.
Great place to eat lunch. Great service with large portions of food at very reasonable prices and friendly atmosphere.
The waitress was fantastic! She didn't like the fries that came out of the kitchen so she sent them back on her own... She brought everything else to the table and explained that the fries were coming. I had a schnitzel that was really oily......I wouldn't do that again..I expected more from a daily special. They are known for the smoked meat I'll try that next time. The only reason I'm going back is the effort of the waitress....most servers wouldn't care... She was very good!More
We have been regulars to this brunch restaurant for a while now. The waiting staff are very friendly and always make you feel welcome. The smoke salmon omelette and the old fashioned smoke meat sandwich are excellent.
