A small and unpretentious place with great French baked goods, mixed with a solid dose of Canadian themed jams and meats.

After trying some of the best Macarons in Paris it is difficult to compare. For the price the macarons are a good deal. I tried the lemon which tasted as if it was sitting in the display for a couple weeks. The Blueberry cheesecake was much better.

We went there recently and were not impressed. The food was very average and at least one item tasted quite dry, as if it were a day-old. It is very frustrating to read all the hype and promo regarding an eatery supposedly specializing in a style of food that you love, only to have an underwhelming experience. We were disappointed.... I am quite picky with my croissants and baked goods..went there a couple of times having great expectations from the famous French chef...the croissants were stale and not crispy/fluffy as they should...they tasted like supermarket croissants...the macarons were very mediocre...sandwiches were average and everything is overpriced...I wonder if that chef has ever tasted the products being sold under his name!

Picked up a chicken sandwich that was at least a day or two old. The chicken was ok but the bread was stale, the greens were wilted, and the dressing was absorbed by the bread. Found the croissants to be average, and the service to be negligent. Despite the prices they charge, this is definitely more of a better grocery... More

This review is for the Yonge Street location downtown at King Street (it didn't come up on Trip Advisor). You have to love the soaring glass windows that look out and up to nearby skyscrapers. The place has great light and nice leather chairs to sit in. It's small and fills up early for the lunch crowd but it does... More

I was walking along Yonge St. when I noticed this bakery with the wonderful smell. I went in and had a flashback to bakeries in Paris. Lot's of brioche and croissants, so tasty and fluffy. So i just had to try them out. I tried a brioche and it was delightful, crunchy on the outside yet soft and chocolatey on... More

Other than their prime real estate and mediocre pastries, the only note worthy thing about the place is their unbelieveably snooty employees. The entire time we were there, we were made to feel we had did them a disservice, sitting in the cafe ordering our pastries and coffee. Although it was a Sunday, and perhaps slow, the fellow spent the... More

The home of the $12 loaf of bread! Gourmet foods, made with some pretension and care, but pitching to the haut market.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
