I love this place for breakfast and I think I'm not alone. I have so much to choose from on the menu but my favourite is the homemade Belgian waffle. It takes a fair bit of time to make but it's all worth it in the end and the bacon and eggs breakfast with toast and potato is also awesome.... More

Everything about this place was just great, there was really interesting art on the walls, even the tea service was fancy with these little ceramic elephants. The toast was multigrain and the food was clearly made fresh to order. Our server was so friendly that you just wanted to hug her.

I sincerely recommend when shopping at the St. Lawrence Market on say a Saturday, to get away from the hustle and bustle, try Hank's. It is an excellent neighbourhood find. Great breakfast items.

I like Hanks. The food is healthy. However, I miss the pulled pork, which is no longer on the menu. The choices seem more limited. The last time is was there, I ordered an omelette. It was just okay. The time before, I ordered the burger and burped the spices all afternoon. I miss the pulled pork sandwich with red... More

Good range of menu options but no pancakes on offer. Was able to change bacon for avocado to fulfil vegetarian need. decaf coffee only Americano option but was fine. Very clean and tidy with attentive waitress.

This little nook provides plenty of breakfast fare at affordable prices. There are lighter options such as yogurt parfaits, and bigger plates such as a poutine scramble, with a selection of a la carte items as well. And of course, good coffee. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. This is a good choice for a breakfast stop if... More

I don't know if this was bad luck, but service was so slow we were offered one of our meals. Food was bland, nothing special and portions were not particularly generous. Not a good experience overall, didn't go back, which is too bad since this place was conveniently located (Old Town, near St.Lawrence Market).

As we tend to avoid overpriced hotel breakfasts, we visited here twice on the recommendation of TA reviews We were staying at the Novotel, less than 5 mins around the corner. We were not left disappointed on either visit. Not a huge menu as some comment - but certainly more than enough to satisfy all but the most picky. Service... More

This place is off the beaten path for travelers, but well worth the short walk. We stayed at Bond Place Hotel and decided to trying a place that locals would eat at rather than the tourist brunch locations. This place had a phenomenal menu that was cheap. I got the basic eggs, bacon and toast, but my friend got the... More

well if you are looking for a healthy breakfast then this might not be your place. Their breakfast s loaded with soaked in butter bread and Potatoes. The service is great and the food comes fast, and they customize your plate as you want, but I left the place hungry since the portions are very small and the bread was... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
