Went a few week ago with two friends. They wanted oysters and they heard that Sorrels did a good job and at a fair price. We were well attended, from the time of entering. It was old-fashioned and reminded of the days when I managed Julie's Mansion, (now a Keg on Jarvis)) on a much scaled down attempt. The food... More

The restaurant is quite pretty, with a few very large windows, making the place feel more spacious than it is. The lighting in the restaurant is perfect...not dark and not too bright, adding to a pleasant atmosphere. The positive is that the food was tasty. I especially loved the branzino, which was one of the specials that night. However you... More

This restaurant has very good food and a very nice atmosphere, located in mid town it offers a wide variety of dishes that are always fresh as well as fresh oysters and fresh fish. I loved the salmon and rapini dish I had. The salmon was perfectly done, not overly cooked and perfectly paired with the rapini. The dining room was not too big so it gave a cozy feeling. The wait staff was very polite and friendly.

This restaurant has a great variety and delicious food! It's always busy, which is a great sign and the service/owners are very friendly and accommodating. I really enjoy the casual chic atmosphere and the vibe.

Lovely atmosphere. Fantastic service from all the staff, and the food was amazing! Our pastas were delicious. Deserts were pretty good as well, altho the chocolate cake I had was almost too heavy. The wine list was not bad, BUT there was a big markup, so be warned that drinks are not cheap.

Slow service, very loud and discernable attitude from staff. Would not return, instead, I will explore the many other fine dining restaurants that Toronto has to offer.

My first time there, pasta was just awesome. And the location is fantastic, just inferno too an open area in an awesome neighbourhood with some nice building around. We just loved it.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
