Stumbled in this place while ambling around and initially only stopped for a drink. Decided to eat and loved everything! Shared chicken liver, then duck and a desert and also were given a consommé to try. Both were excellent. Service was great. If ever back in Toronto would visit again.

Most impressive was the service. Very professional talking us through every menu possibility. Quick but not invasive. Next came the food. Excellent throughout. A small but interesting selection, reasonably priced. Great vibe, not a large place Good selection of cocktails but little bit limited with beers. Central. Would look forward to going back.

Love the concept of the dishes being a variety of tapas-style plates from around the world, representing the diversity of Toronto. Bravo, great idea! The setting was nice, upscale without being stuffy. The staff were friendly, and we really enjoyed most of the food. Was it the best meal we've had in Toronto? No, but it's definitely a place we... Was really looking forward to coming here and was a bit underwhelmed. Service and drinks were good, but food was just ok. We were also seated in what felt like the hallway and had to constantly lean to the side when people walked by, which was frequently. Glad that I tried it, but likely won't be back.

Seven friends recently went for the Group Dinner here. We were quite pleased with the dinner itself and the cocktails. The service was excellent. Our favorites from the group dinner menu were the deluxe smoked fish appetizer, the general tso-fu, the korean sashimi salad and the butter lamb croquettes. The duck was good but not amazing. However, that being said,... More

On recommendation from a couple of bars in Kensington we popped in here for a snack and really enjoyed the food and the ambience, good bar for a drop in snack in a busy part of town.

We were excited to go here as it continually gets great reviews and write-ups. We were here celebrating our staff party (yes...there are only two of us) and had a cocktail and then split some appetizers and one main. We had the tofu - it was too spicy to eat. The latkes were just OK - not overly flavourful. The... More

My friend and I were excited about having dinner at People's Eatery because we'd read that it was one of the top 10 places to eat in Toronto. How that could be neither of us can attest. We waited an unreasonable amount of time to be seated, and then were pressured to take a table in the front window which... More

Heard good things about the food but bad reviews on service - My girlfriend and I sat at the bar, menus came and we were ignored for 20 minutes while staff directly in front of us washed glasses. We subsequently got up and left - Probably will never be back, highly recommend skipping this place

In its menu People's eatery combines the dishes of the people who inhabited the neighborhood, mainly Jewish Ashkenazi cuisine and Chinese cuisine. Mostly around small plates and a few slightly more copious ones ( although not by much and somewhat expensively priced), they cater to a varied clientele who seemed all content on the night we were there. Oddly enough... More
