We happened upon this restaurant because our restaurant of choice for the day has closed. So, what to do when five people are meeting at a closed restuarant? We checked out other options, had a look at the buffet and chose the Regency. Great food, the best butter chicken! Lots of choices and all at a reasonable price. The restaurant... More

We have been going to Regency for over ten years, before we had any kids. We were looking for indian wedding outfits in the area and have explored a few of the restaurants. 10+ years and 2 babies later, this is still our #1 favourite indian buffet in Toronto and the GTA. The are $13 per adult for dinner, and... More

When in Toronto, I venture off to Regency for an authentic taste of India. They have a buffet of plentiful offerings from spicy to not so spicy. There are vegetarian offerings along with butter chicken and other meaty dishes drenched in flavourful sauces. The service is also good and the servers are attentive and look after you from start to... More

Not sure about other places in the neighbourhood as this was our first time but I can say we were all pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The selection of curries (korma, vindaloo etc.) on the buffet were impressive. Wasn't a fan of their butter chicken, too sweet; however the chicken biryani was decent. The fresh to order naan was the... More

The Grrrls night out was supposed to be at a different resto, but it was closed for a private party. Since it was freezing we popped into the closest other eatery - the Regency Buffet. And we were glad we did, everything was great. We had a wonderful time.

Given that diners can choose other nearby eateries, ones with better food at the same price, it no longer makes any sense (cents?) to eat here. Our recent lunch was so very plain, that my wife left half of her plate uneaten, something that she rarely does. I only finished my plate due to some misguided sense of getting my... More

Consistently good food, congenial service, relaxed atmosphere. This has been our favourite Indian Buffet restaurant for a good many years. Delicious and budget-friendly.

I surprised my friends when I bring them to try out this little Indian buffet restaurant . They all commented how great the food tasted and the price was reasonable.

We live close by and I have worked in the area since the '80s. As an addict of all things from the subcontinent, trust me when I say that I know the majority of Indian restaurants across the city. Regency is a good experience. The service was great. But to pose the food dishes here as in any way different... More

I love the fresh made naan, the spinach curry and the lentils. With lots to choose from it was delightful to have so many tasty choices. Service was fast and friendly and the curry is awesome!

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
