I had a big dinner with my friends here on the graduation day. Food was really good. Service is exceptional. I ordered medium rare steak with french fries and a drink. It was expensive, but you get what you pay.

We went there with four other friends/family to celebrate and, to the restaurant's credit, they gave us a (small but free) piece of cake after the meal which was nice. The other two good things about this restaurant are the service, which was really excellent, and the spare ribs, which two people ordered. The portions were huge and delicious, as... More

I had a below average lunch experience at Baton Rouge. The food was mainly bland and just seemed to be uninspired in general. Really seemed to show their chain restaurant quality of cooking and plating. The service staff was good, being a busy lunch rush they were able to keep up with the pace.

They changed up their menu. Food isn't that appetizing. Tasted bland, cold, and boring. We had the steak sandwich and chicken club. We got an artichoke dip as an appetizer that was so we had to ask to have it warmed twice. A lot of their items have pre-made ingrediants. Stick to the ribs leave the sandwiches and apps alone.... Picked the restaurant for a quick lunch and... Yeah, it was a mistake. Don't expect quick here. Food was good and well-sized portions were served but it took a while to get the food to our table. So, if you don't have a lot of time, skip it!

We were looking for ribs and steaks on a recent trip to Toronto. Baton Rouge is that kind of restaurant. Good sized portions. Wholesome food. Lots of steak combinations with seafood, ribs and chicken.

This was the most disappointing service I have had ever from any service industry. They 86'd sparkling water, Creme Brulee and cappuccino, and this was at 7pm. I had to ask the waiter what was the daily special, and then the way he presented it was so plain, that should have been my clue. We had to ask for cutlery,... More

Haven't been to Baton Rouge for awhile. Ordered the daily pasta - Linguine with bacon and mushroom in creamy ROSÉ sauce. The pasta cooked perfectly and the sauce is exactly what I like - "light in sauce". It was around 2 pm on Monday. It was quiet after the lunch hour. There was a waitress and the bartender in the... Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
