Tried this place as part of a very large group. The food actually wasn't bad. Was given a Caesar salad to start which was fair and then a main of chicken cooked on top of hash brown potatoes. The chicken was a little dry, altogether not amazing. However the hash browns were delicious. I would probably still go again as... More

With new new modern "purchase card", not the old stamp card I thought things would move faster. I guess the staff was just tired and ready to go home. The coffee station was slow. I ordered a crepe and was happy however, my sister-in-law went to the same man who was now a waffle maker. The waffle maker was only... More

My partner and I enjoyed the fresh Rosti potatoes and schnitzel plus a Vegan salad which we easily shared. The salad was massive and very easy to split between 2 people while the schnitzel was an equally large portion that the two of us enjoyed quite nicely. We glanced at the desserts, but opted for a coffee and tea instead.... More

We reserved for a large group, and later realized it was a big mistake. We better come as few smaller groups for faster service.

This has been a favorite restaurant for me and my husband for years. It has gotten a bit more expensive over the years, but the number of excellent food choices is amazing. We have always been very satisfied and full by the end of our meals. We have a picky family and there really is something for everyone. The crepes... More

Excellent choice of food available as you pick your own and watch them cook it in front of you. How it works is they give you a card at the hostess kiosk. Kids get their own as the kids menu is advertised in a insert. You basically go to a food station and order the food there. They then put... More

Had a wonderful lunch with my girlfriend. Great food selection from pizza, salad, great vegetable selection. We both selected the vegetables which consisted of rice, mushrooms, zucchini, sweet potatoes. Small plates for $6.98 large plate for $9.99. They also have a great selection of deserts, cakes and ice cream along with super coffee selection. There is something for the entire... More

It is a unique experience and appropriate for a group with many different tastes / preferences. It is "self serve" - you walk through the market and order your food. Service (cleaning tables, stocking cutlery, etc) is slow and you will likely need to make a request. Portions are reasonable. Be aware of the potential for a mounting bill -... More

The look and feel of this restaurant is excellent; it's clean, the food selection and quality is good. The problem is that you end up paying too much for too little. As other people have said, it wasn't always this way but over time they've done things to cut their expenses - like doing away with cutlery on tables, moving... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
