Found a little hole in the wall shop behind long-going construction, with barely a restaurant sign up. I wasn't sure if I wanted to stop by purely from the old looks outside but this was the closet spot conveniently beside the theatre where we had tickets to watch 'Get Out' (it was fantasticcc, highly recommend the movie)! Wanting to save... More

Its a tiny hole in the wall but it does stellar sushi at a good price. The Shio ramen and the hockey combos are a good pick.

We ordered a sashimi plate and a sushi combo to share and we thought it was the perfect amount of food for 2 people. We also ordered some warm sake which was a nice addition. The sashimi tasted fresh and we received complimentary edamame and hot tea while waiting for our order. At the end, we received complimentary orange slices as... More

Only go here if you are really hungry which we were. The portions were huge. Had a box Ramen which was excellent. My husband had the veggie one and that was terrific too. Good and friendly service. Prices were good too

We usually order and take out from this place. But yesterday we had dinner at the restaurant. The restaurant itself is not fancy, just a regular daily sushi bar restaurant. The service though is excellent. The food sushi and sashimi as delicious. their salad and their soup is excellent among the best i had in Town. They also offer on... More

I went for a lunch with a friend. We each ordered a set lunch in a bento box. We both ordered one with chicken; mine was spicy, but my friend's wasn't. The chicken he was served basically felt like rubber and put a stack of paper in the mouth - totally un-chewable! I am not surprised if the chicken was... More

The decorate is in typical Japanese style, but all the stuff are Chinese. The Sushi is very good. I order 8 pcs ordinary sushi and 3 with salmon; Salad and soup are very good, too. Everything is good. During the lunch time, many people around the small restaurant. It seems always hard to find a seat. I will be back.

A small sushi and ramen joint on Carlton street. Decent sushi and ramen. Generous portions and quick service. I've ordered take out from this place a number of times and eaten in as well. The servers will almost always offer a freebie while you wait. A cup of green tea or dumplings while you wait. A nice gesture and a... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
