Perhaps it was an off day? The service was good. The waitress was informative and friendly. My friend ordered the daily special which was described containing calamari, shrimp and scallops. The shrimp was omitted. When I questioned the waitress she mentioned that the kitchen had run out of shrimp. She offered my friend a complimentary glass of wine. My salad... More

A friend and I decided to visit Dooney's since they had moved west on Bloor St. The waiter was quick to bring a bottle of tap water, I was impressed. A friendly waitress took our drink order and she was quick to deliver our drinks. We ordered our appetizer and main pasta course and waited over 30 minutes for delivery.... More

A restaurant for all seasons - they do a great and very affordable (under $10) brunch on weekdays, and for dinner it's a great date spot, prices mid-range, some great items and always friendly service.

We went to Dooney's for lunch on a week day- no problem getting a seat and we were not rushed out so we had time to chat over a very good cup of coffee. The decor was pleasant. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very accommodating and professional. The only problem I had was that the salmon on my over-dressed... More

I was very impressed with Dooney's Cafe. A nice relaxed vibe, music piped in but not too loud and very good quick service. I enjoyed their Dooney's club, an avocado, bacon, chili aioli and grilled chicken sandwich. Very well done sandwich!! Served with fries for $9.00 plus taxes. Not bad at all, very reasonable. Sat down, ordered and ate our... More

Dooney's have now moved to 866 Bloor St. West (Bloorcourt VIllage). The decor is elegant, funky, a mix of restaurant and bar feeling. Staff dressed professionally, looks like they know their cappuccino and espressos, the menu is interesting, the kitchen seems to know what they're doing. Owner is super friendly and because of excellent communication on the part of the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
