Two friends and I went to O Resto Lounge (first time) last night for their Winterlicious menu. I had passed their front before but didn't register what a little gem was tucked away almost out of sight. At 5pm the place was empty but started filling up around 6. Start with the good news - Delirium Tremons on tap! Even... More

This place looks nice from the street. But, beware. They were understaffed in the kitchen. 15-minute wait turned into 45 minutes. By the time the poutine came to the table, it was cold again. Every table that ordered food had to have it wrapped to go, because it came out too late to be eaten.

Worst place ever. We came for Summerlicious and the service is awful!! We asked for our reservation, and they couldn't us, so without asking us, they set us up outside. Then when we asked if we could sit inside, they gave us a firm "No". The hostess is rude and had attitude. Our main waitress was very rude. The server... More

This place has great food and is in an amazing location within Toronto's Financial District. Their service however, is beyond horrible. I attended a 9 person business lunch where they served one member of our table raw salmon and the messed up the other's hamburger 4 times. They also neglected to check in on our drinks and gave us lemon... More

I went with a rather large group of people here for lunch to try their summerlicious menu. We were very excited to go because their menu looked simple but good. We walked in and immediately loved the decor and the vibe of the place. We were eventually given water and placed our drink orders. Most people at our table had... More

Pleasantly surprised. Popped in here in the early afternoon for some takeout. The burger was really good and the bun was tasty and fresh. Nachos and salad were decent too. Right beside King subway station.

I frequently see O'Resto Lounge pretty busy at lunch, so I thought it'd be a good place to try for lunch one day. Maybe it was a bad day, but the service was terribly slow and uninterested. My salad was not enjoyable. There was a bitter, unpleasant leaf in the mix that left an unpleasant aftertaste. My burger was pretty... More

This is a great little place tucked away in a corner at Yonge & King Sts -- great poutine & good selection of beers on tap. They had a great summer prices for beers that I hope will be brought back soon. The staff is nice & remembers the clientele. A good place to stop to relax before heading home!

Food is on the upper side of average, atmosphere is OK. Kind of a cross between a sports bar and a lounge. The current $5 a draught beer promotion makes it one of the cheapest places downtown to grab a pint - even high end beers like Stiegl are on tap and only $5. Food was good but prices on... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
