I popped in to Mick E Fynn's because it was close to the hotel I stayed at. It's a classic, dark pub atmosphere with ample bar seating and a lots of tables. Nice beer selection with typical pub fare on the menu. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was very good. If I stay off Yonge street again, I'll... More

We were staying at the Holiday Inn across the road and this was a handy place for a nigtcap. They had some good beers and prices were OK by Toronto standards. Staff was friendly and efficient. Lighting was quite dim but this appears to be common in North America.

Called here twice last week, food was OK on first night. The waiter decider on how much we should give him as a tip. On the second visit we were left waiting for service while the waitress chatted to students. She left drinks we ordered on the bar of forgot our drinks order. Our food was left on the counter... The food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was healthy. Noisy, like any sports bar, but the people were sitll polite and friendly. We had walked by here many times, and finally stopped to eat. Glad that we did. I had a cheeseburger that would not fit into my mouth, and my wife had the chicken sandwich.... More

Walked in alone one evening to see a baseball game. Was meeting a few friends who had not arrived. There were less than a dozen customers so it was a quiet night. The waitress came over before I even sat down and asked me if she could get me a drink. I asked her to give me a minute and... More

My wife and I found this pub across the street from our hotel. The Waitress was really friendly and even remembered us when we saw her at a coffee shop the next evening. I had the half rack of ribs, at the insistence of the waitress. She did not think the appetizer would fill me up, probably correct. The ribs... More

My wife and I and another couple popped in to this pub style restaurant to watch the Jays game and then went to a Ryerson Hockey game afterwards across the street at the old Maple Leaf Gardens. The staff were very friendly an attentive even as it got busy later on. I had hot wings and they were excellent, meaty... More

I had wings and fries. They had a funny flavor kind of fishy tasting. I get wings everytime I go to a pub and they are below average here as are the McCain fries. Service was good and they had a jukebox which bumped it from a 2* to a 3*. I would not recommend.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
