We were looking for a place to eat brunch, before we went to the matinee of Potted Potter. This place looked okay from outside and had a sign advertising that they served brunch, so we went in. We were a group of six including teenagers, the host quickly moved a couple tables together and seated us promptly. The menu was... More

Wonderful people here. They go out of their way to make your visit memorable. We had dinner on Saturday and stopped back for a drink on Sunday. Food was great. ( we ate it all.) The pitcher of fresh brewed Sangria on Saturday was worth a revisit on Sunday. Great view of Yonge Street. Alyssa (?) was very friendly and... More

Ate here for lunch on Thursday, Jan. 5th before the Potted Potter show. The food was exquisite and the children's menu was well priced with non-processed food. The owner came buy to greet us and even played a couple of tunes on the grand piano! I was still full on our train ride back to Ottawa that night! Definitely a... More

I was excited to bring my daughters to The Brownstone Bistro after seeing Potted Potter tonight. I had read the reviews, looked over the menu and chosen the restaurant with care. We were seated quickly which was nice as we arrived 25 minutes before our reservation. We were given menus and some water and then left alone for about 5... More

Went in on spec for brunch. Not very busy but quite slow service. Nicely presented and tasty food when it arrived. I will return but not too much of a hurry.

the small little bistros of Toronto always surprise me. This place is right on yonge st and looks like a run of the mill location, but inside its all business. A very good menu with very good service, makes for a enjoyable time. nice atmosphere.

Very disappointed. Made reservations a few weeks ago online for my husband's birthday. Reservations were made and confirmed November 19th to be exact. We have a theater show Saturday from 7 - 9:30pm, so I thought it would be great to have dinner at a nearby restaurant after the show. Made reservations for 10pm. This morning, 2 days before our... We went to Brownstone Bistro last night and the service + food was incredible. From entering the restaurant, the hostess was really nice and our server John was one of the friendliest people I have ever met. He knew the menu perfectly and he was courteous and always checking in on us. The frutti di marre was SOOOO good. All... More

Description
Family owned Italian/Continental fusion restaurant. We have been a staple in the Yonge and Wellesley community for the past 13 years. Just recently we underwent a major renovation courtesy of the TV show Restaurant Takover on the Food Network. Ambiance is elegant and classy without being pretentious or stuck up. Our exceptionally-trained staff provide our guests with fast and efficient service while ensuring they feel relaxed and comfortable, never rushed. But most importantly, they make sure our guests feel welcome in our home.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
