We went there for lunch on a weekday. It was fully booked from 12noon to 1:30pm. It is a popular lunch venue for business. When first walked in, the place is incredibly noisy. Kind of surprised. After the typical lunch time passed, noise level came down. Parking was right at TD building. The parking design is a little hard to... More

I went this place in summerlicious festival. My friend ordered advanced by call, that's not easy to book a table in the rush hour in summer. We ordered the $45 value set . The view is so nice, when the sunny day, you can see the CN Tower close to you, also the lake. For the food, is really fancy,... More

Had the opportunity to dine at Canoe recently, for a family birthday celebration. I hadn't been to Canoe in a few years, after an unfortunate oyster incident. Not the restaurants issue, we found out the hard way that my wife had developed an oyster allergy :( We dined on a Thursday night, and you could really feel the business crowds... More

Although we don't dine at Canoe often, the experience is memorable each time we do. Well located in the heart of downtown with a great 54th floor view. The food was outstanding, service was friendly, knowledgeable and just about perfect. We had great cocktails to start and wine by the glass with dinner. Our server convinced me to try the... More

This gem atop the TD Tower in the heart of the financial district has been a hub of activity for many years now. It almost always offers one of a kind dishes with exquisite taste and impeccable service. Be aware it's a pretty noisy room, and pricey, but virtually always well worth the visit!

Canoe is located at the top of a skyscraper in the center of the city and as a result has fine views of the lake and city, beautiful during day and night. The food is "Canadian" which I believe means highlighting inventive food form Canadian sources. Canadian home cooking is not really what I would call gourmet and Canoe's selections... More

We stopped in for an early dinner and were lucky to be seated without a reservation. Every course was unique and amazing, and service was exceptional.

Decided on Sunday that this might be an appropriate restaurant to take my sister in law for a milestone birthday (I am a widower to her sister). Wrote Sunday evening, got a reply on Monday, and booked. Asked for a window table if possible as we had seen all the comments of the view. We were told that they couldn't... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
