If you are going to the Hot Docs theatre, this is a great place for a meal before or after, it is right across the road. We had an early dinner before the movie and enjoyed our food - we had calamari, a chicken burger and the mac and cheese. A word of warning, the mac and cheese is VERY... More

A gem hidden in plain sight! Found out about it online and decided to drop by for a birthday brunch earlier this year. Did not regret it. Fantastic waffles and great service! Has been my favourite restaurant since and I've only ate there once. If you are in the area give it a shot.

We arrived in Toronto from the USA unbeknownst to us on Canadian Thanksgiving. While most restaurants were closed due to Canadian Thanksgiving, the Insomniac Restaurant and Lounge was open! Thank goodness!!! My portobello mushrooms salad was great and chock full of healthy greens and nuts. My now fiancé liked the meal he chose from the menu. I got to try... More

Walking through Korea town looking for a place for dinner and stumbled upon this place by accident. Door opens up and the aromas were awesome. Could not get a table for about an hour so decided to sit at the bar which was perfectly fine. Ordered about 5 appetizers to share and all were great. Nice hip atmosphere and good... More

I went here for appetizers & drinks with a friend on Sunday night. Everybody was very nice, though the service was a little slow. We ordered the brie crostini, which was worth it’s price ($7), and not much more. I found it unoriginal & too simple. We also ordered the calamari that came with tzatziki– again, I found the same... Creative menu. Tasty food. Well presented. Good service. The harvest salad, and waffles and chicken entrées were very good. Overall, a very pleasant dinner, just not exceptional.

A somehow posh small restaurant and lounge in Harbord district of Toronto. I had a burger and an arugula salad, everything was ok, but not more than that. They offer a wide selection of cocktails (expensive). Good service.

We booked a table for 4 on a Saturday and got seated just fine. After placing our orders, it took about 50 minutes for our food to arrive and my husband's order was wrong. My friend got the french toast with the cool name and my husband got one of the pancakes... both were rich and delicious. I got the... More

Really nice to place to brunch. Good food but you better have to come early to avoid queue. Overcrowded on weekends.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
