I went here for appetizers & drinks with a friend on Sunday night. Everybody was very nice, though the service was a little slow. We ordered the brie crostini, which was worth it’s price ($7), and not much more. I found it unoriginal & too simple. We also ordered the calamari that came with tzatziki– again, I found the same... Creative menu. Tasty food. Well presented. Good service. The harvest salad, and waffles and chicken entrées were very good. Overall, a very pleasant dinner, just not exceptional.

A somehow posh small restaurant and lounge in Harbord district of Toronto. I had a burger and an arugula salad, everything was ok, but not more than that. They offer a wide selection of cocktails (expensive). Good service.

We booked a table for 4 on a Saturday and got seated just fine. After placing our orders, it took about 50 minutes for our food to arrive and my husband's order was wrong. My friend got the french toast with the cool name and my husband got one of the pancakes... both were rich and delicious. I got the... More

Really nice to place to brunch. Good food but you better have to come early to avoid queue. Overcrowded on weekends.

When there before seeing a show with some friends, they have a good selection of draft and bottle beer. The hummus was excellent. The mac and cheese was a good portion and was out of this world. The service was quick and efficient. I will go again any time!

Came for a family brunch last November as a family brunch and now as a twosome. The food is fresh, tasty and plentiful. The menu is varied. Never disappointing, never pretentious.

We first visited Insomnia, I think, at least seventeen years ago....not many restaurants have survived that long. Menu stays current, the space has always been attractive, and the service, attentive. Burger is classically good...fries are insanely delicious....piping hot and perfectly crisp, served with garlic aioli. In the front, a long bar and tables....in the middle, communal tables for larger groups........ More

A local recommended this place to us so we decided to try it out. One of the best breakfasts we have had. The food was delicious. Had the PLT Sandwich and the French toast. Both were delicious. Service was good as well. There was a 40 min wait on Sun but well worth the wait. They had the street closed... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
