We have been living in Toronto for a year now and since we came here we have been trying at least one new restaurant every week .This time our target was Scaramouche We could only reserve the place for the time we want about 10 days ahead .The place was nice and airy the service was very attentive and traditional... Wanted a nice fish restaurant for a special event for someone who only eats fish. Menu was very limited and fish choices rather dull. Service was slow and inattentive. Prices high for the experience. Dessert also very bland. Place seemed like something out of the 70s. Needs an update for sure.

Everything was delicious and elegantly presented! The waiter was thoughtful and patient! Coconut cream pie is a must! Wine choices compliment the dishes beautifully!

We just finished my birthday dinner and we were terribly disappointed. To begin with the Sommelier did not bother to bring us proper Burgundy glasses for our wine. Perhaps it was because we did not purchase the wine from them. However you would expect some effort for the $35 corkage. I had steak and to be truthful I can BBQ... More

I had a cozy dinner with my friend here recently. Make reservation early on as the place is crowded and it's unlikely that you get a table without booking. Have cash handy as there is valet parking and coat service. Double think the coconut cream pie :). We ordered it because it seemed to be the most famous item on... More

I booked a table for two for my partner's birthday. After delicious appetizers of oysters and grilled octopus and a shared entree of halibut and roast vegetables, we ordered the lightest coconut cream pie in phyllo dough. It was decorated with a personalized birthday wish for the birthday celebrant. Very thoughtful! Highly recommended!

This is our favourite place for holiday dinners or special events. The food never disappoints and the view of the city is exceptional.

We had not been to Scaramouche in over 10 years. We had dinner in the main dining area last week. The food and service was outstanding. It is full value for the price. If you are looking for a spot for a special occasion you all not be disappointed.

Everything in this restaurant is better than expected. It is pricey but worth every penny. And the view is priceless.

Description
Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one. Chef/owner Keith Froggett's sophisticated cuisine is presented simply with care and attention to detail. The service underscores that philosophy: unobtrusive and respectful. The restaurant affords a stunning nighttime vista of the downtown Toronto skyline. These components and more make Scaramouche the singular destination it is. And the reason that the restaurant is consistently ranked as one of the city's best for more than three decades.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
