The staff were great and really tried hard...BUT...there's nothing Irish about this pub which has moved to a new location and is now basically a hole in the wall void of any character whatsoever. Just 'cus you have Guiness on tap does not make it Irish! No Irish food at all, no Caffreys/Kilkenney/Harp (despite the large Harp mirror on the... More

Unlike some of the previous postings, we had a good experience. The waitress did a good job, bringing drinks all together, our food order was accurate. Plates came at the same time and hot! Surprisingly the food was good, perhaps fish & chips a bit greasy. Overall satisfactory. The convenience of free parking gives it a plus!

I am not writing this after just one bad experience .it has in fact been bad the łast three visits there .the service may be fine if you are sitting at the bar but forget it if you are at a table on the floor . Why should a customer continually have to get up to go looking for the... More

As noted in most other reviews, the service and food used to be good. Horrible service now, even for regulars. The employees are young and simply not customer focused. Clearly not meant for the job. The only person getting good service is the owner who frequents the bar, but is also not customer focused. Going downhill fast. Food orders not... More

Went here a couple times within one week. Fairly busy both nights, with open jam/singing on the Thurs night. Only minor complaint would be the service. One waitress working, and she was great, but there was no chance she could keep up fast enough

We've been going to Scruffy's for over 20 years! Food USED to be good, Service USED to be good. Now it's horrible! At a lunch with co-workers, it took 20 minutes just to get the lunch menu and there was NO ONE ELSE there! I don't recommend this restaurant anymore...Sorry Scruffy's

We went with a group for a birthday party and had a great time. I had never been here before and was impressed with the traditional pub feeling of Scruffy's. Our server, Katie, was very friendly and efficient. The food was good as well. There was a live band playing and they put on a great show. I would definitely... More

I've been coming here almost once a week for the past 5 years. I've never had a problem - food has always been adequate and service has always been fantastic and very friendly. Unfortunately, I've consistently found the service to be beyond atrocious as of late. - Waiting 15+ minutes just to get a menu, and that's only AFTER we... More

Great bar and friendly staff. Not everywhere you can sit at the bar and chat with the owner while enjoying a brew. Food is good too if you're hungry when you get there. Many regulars seem to enjoy themselves here. The free parking out front, and hidden parking lot in the back (free in the evenings) are helpful if you... More

Really good pub food and service in old style pub. It's been there a long time and worth going to for a tasty meal.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
